Petal's 'Magic Gone' Is A "Raw, Indie Rock Resolution" And Out Now On Run For Cover Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Petal's sophomore LP 'Magic Gone' is out now on Run For Cover Records. The Philadelphia-based project fronted by singer/songwriter Kiley Lotz represents an artistic shift as she leaps forward both creatively and personally. Lotz combines her backgrounds in musical theatre with biting anecdotes over the ten-song collection that cover adulthood, accountability, responsibility, mental health and the difficulties that go along with each of them, with her classically-trained voice the centerpiece of each song.

Petal has been covered by Interview, Noisey, NPR Music, Stereogum, Paste and more, and has premiered a live version of opening track "Better Than You" on Billboard.

To celebrate the release of 'Magic Gone', Lotz sat down with actor Daniel K. Isaac of Showtime's Billions to discuss the intersections of art and queer identity at the Strand Rare Book Room in NYC, and also performed stripped-down arrangements of songs from the new album.

PRAISE FOR 'MAGIC GONE':
"Petal's stunning new album, 'Magic Gone', isn't just about growing up: it's about the hard, scary truths that come along with discovering who you are." - Paste
"Raw, indie rock resolution" - Noisey
"Petal manages to capture the everyday anxiety of being with grace." - No Depression
"Spending time with 'Magic Gone' is an emotional experience" - Interview Magazine
"…the heaviness of the words and the lightness of the music can feed each other, how they can make each other stronger. It's a dichotomy that makes 'Magic Gone' - an album that's utterly drowning in sadness in a lot of ways - into something warm and comforting and friendly" - Stereogum
"Magic Gone echoes that journey to self-acceptance beautifully, with all of the highs and lows accounted for." - AllMusic
"Masterful" - Substream
"Lotz's music itself is the salve." - Paper
"…packed with raw authenticity" - WXPN
