New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Peter Manos returns with his first single of 2020 - the moody, languorous "Tennessee." Manos' autotune drifts over ominously swelling Prophet synth as he ponders a period of flux wherein friendships evaporated unexpectedly, love came and went unpredictably, and what defines "home" became uncertain. Download / stream "Tennessee" HERE. The lyric video, also released today, underscores the sense of bewilderment that ensues when someone close retreats without explanation.

Despite being intensely private, Manos is extremely good at introductions. When he shared his first song in 2017 - "In My Head," that heartrending slab of eerie soul recorded in a dorm room at Nashville's Belmont University - he turned ears and stoked fascination: Who was this master of catharsis and vibe, always obscuring his face in photos? Hailing "In My Head" as a "Song You Need to Know," Rolling Stone observed, "In a world largely ruled by speedy trap tempos, 'In My Head' proves that ballads can still surprise." Ones To Watch praised "You Don't Know Me," one of Manos' follow-up tracks, as 'truly breathtaking."

"In My Head" found its way onto numerous playlists, from Spotify's Pop Rising all the way to Today's Top Hits. Combined global streams of the track have now topped 300 million. Manos, who hails from the suburbs of Dallas, had enrolled at Belmont with the goal of studying music until music allowed him to drop out. He accomplished that goal in his sophomore year. Now living in Los Angeles, he works almost exclusively solo out of his downtown apartment, in a bedroom-turned-recording-den: computer station, prized blonde Wurlitzer, full guitar rack, lived-in furniture from Texas, and walls lined with photos, postcards, and letters.

The one-stop-shop singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and producer admits, "I'm completely obsessive about making music and getting it right." And it shows. The man packs a lot into his songs. Memories, realizations, and conversations with himself. Loss, warmth, hope, and loneliness. All of it set to a slow swirl of alt-pop, indie R&B, and intimate folk.
