When asked about 'Lie to You',
Peter stated: "There is so much insecurity directly put into this song that makes it so raw and powerful. It is written about wanting to say how you feel when you are too afraid to speak up about it. You feel like you're only seen as a friend, no matter how big of signs you try to give. You walk away whenever there's an open door because you're too nervous of the outcome. The longer you wait, the weaker you become within yourself to simply speak up. It hurts. Pure communication is one of the things most of us lack nowadays. "I'm fine," definitely doesn't mean you're fine. It really just means you're hurting, but you don't know how to say it; you are afraid to say it. By not speaking up, you're indirectly lying about what you're feeling. That's what this song is about."
