Rapper C-Money Releases New LP 'Midwestern'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The rapper from Sioux City, Iowa known as C-Money has released his new, full-length LP record, titled, "Midwestern." The album has been released on the Doja-Ki Records music label. Boasting no fewer than 11 original tracks for a total listening time of 35 minutes, "Midwestern" is a round introduction to this endlessly talented rapper from halfway between the seas.

C-Money's sound on "Midwestern" has its heart in the hip-hop traditions from the old school. Beats are chill, rhythmic and full of soul. Melodies have their foundations in the lyrical poetry of C-Money, himself. Few bells and whistles are present to muddle and confuse the mix, leaving the listener to enjoy C in his raw and unadorned state, which is how C-Money prefers it to be.

"I don't try to imitate any style or what is popular right now," the artist comments candidly. "I am not happy with the new so-called rap you hear these days, so I choose to be the change I wish to see by making my own music."

The tone of C-Money's sound is most similar to the stripped-down classics of the '90s, when heavy-hitters such as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Tupac Shakur trailblazed a way for modern hip hop musicians at a time when rap had been dominated by transform scratches for more than fifteen years. Like those early rappers, C-Money speaks from the heart, not about what's popular.

"My album sends a wide range of messages and content based on emotion," he writes. "Like [written] poetry, my music explores the ups and downs of life. I am a huge fan of mid-to-late '90s rap music, and I try to bring back a musical feel involving MIDI instruments, such as piano, while keeping a mellow feel. The music I create comes from my heart, and from emotions I have felt."

The album has not been released lightly. C-Money's record is one of the most pored-over works of rap music ever published.

"Being a perfectionist," he writes, "I've worked very hard for the last 13 years making music as a hobby underground, and now I'm ready to share it with the world."

"Midwestern" by C-Money is available online everywhere.

The LP "Midwestern" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes or www.top40-charts.com for convenient purchase and download.
