New York, NY (Top40 Charts) January is always a time for cold and brisk temperatures, but Country singer Rick Monroe has the perfect way to battle those chills - with his current single and video "Fire's Out." The steamy video clip for the song has been posted to Monroe's CMT Artist Page, and can be viewed by going to www.cmt.com/artists/rick-monroe/music-videos/
The sensual track is the latest release from Monroe's EP It's A Love Thing, and will be featured on participating
Music Row reporting stations "
Test Drive" feature starting Jan 1st. Monroe has had quite the varied career so far along, headlining his own shows - in addition to opening shows for CMA winners such as Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Dwight Yoakam, and Charlie Daniels. He has tasted success with previous singles such as "Just The Same," and "Crazy Not To," which in addition to it's peak at the top of the New
Music Weekly chart, also hit the Top-40 on
Music Row, and earned Monroe a ranking of No. 4 on the European Country Charts.
The latest EP from Monroe has been hailed by fans and critics alike for its' step in musical direction. "I was inspired by trying to mix a different flavor into country. Recently there's a lot of country rap going on and I wanted to see if we could take from the groove/pop side of à la Maroon 5/Bruno Mars. I know it's pretty different, but I think it's like a good gumbo you need to add a little kick of spice sometimes and not be afraid to try something new."
Monroe has taken his music all over the United States - and part of the globe, as well. He has performed in such locales as Bosnia, China, Macedonia, Vietnam, the Bahamas, and Switzerland. He was also invited at the request of Pete Peterson, US Ambassador to Vietnam , to perform at the week-long 4th of July celebrations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Mihn City. Monroe was honored to sing the US
National anthem for the 5-year anniversary of the re-opening of diplomatic relations between the countries. This marked the first time the anthem had been sung at a public event in Vietnam in over 25 years. He has also given a Command Performance for former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev on the USS Sequoia Presidential Yacht, Washington, DC. This lead to a trip to Russia where Monroe performed at several orphanages and was a featured performer on REN TV's Bulat Okudzhava Festival in Moscow.
Monroe most recently spent quite a bit of 2014 opening for ACM-award winning The
Eli Young Band as part of the successful Jagermeister's Ultimate Summer of
Music Tour. He has been associated with the tour since 2009.
