Born in Dominica and now based in London, JT has a range of influences from old to new. With hints of
John Mayer and Jack Garratt but also
Juan Luis Guerra and
Marc Anthony keeping that Latin flame alive, JT's array of influences produces his own entirely unique sound.
JT started his music career at The Songwriting Academy and has since collaborated and written with multi-million selling songwriters such as Pam Sheyne (Christina Aguilera,
Jessica Simpson, Corinne Bailey Rae) and Michael Garvin (Jennifer Lopez,
George Benson), and more recently pianist Jeff Franzel for the release of 'Heartbleed'.
When explaining the meaning behind the track, JT stated: "Heartbleed is a song about loss but it's a song about fighting for the things that you love and care for and being ok with placing your heart in someone's hand, even if they might have the power to hurt you. Caring that deep about something or someone that it doesn't matter what happens you are willing to leave your soul on the road if you have to."
'Heartbleed' will be released March 29th via DistroKid.
