Son & Thief Explore Internal Struggles In "Million Dollar Rocket"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie-rock band, Son & Thief, released their new single, "Million Dollar Rocket," a beautiful and captivating track that transports listeners to a dreamy environment. The much-anticipated follow up to their last single, "All I Care About," "Million Dollar Rocket" delivers the perfect balance of acoustic melodies layered with complex lyrics. The track is now available on to download and stream worldwide.

"Million Dollar Rocket" has a unique hypnotic tone that grips listeners. Though the song is structured with airy melodies and soft guitar plucks, the lyrics hold a strong message that anyone can relate to. This track tells a story of someone who is in a constant battle with fears that ascend from overthinking. Listeners hear the thoughts that go back and forth in a mind that is clouded with uncertainty. Heard in an honest, yet desperate tone, front man Shane Toriscelli sings, "Where am I to hide, if you're haunting me inside? Maybe someday you'll find the time to always be mine." He comments, "Million Dollar Rocket is a song about overthinking and the fears that accompany it. It's always been so fascinating to me that through all my chronic overthinking, details as miniscule as a purple flower or a necklace can seep through my memories and end up in my writing." The song was produced and engineered by Toriscelli at his home studio, co-produced by Deane Lawton and Jacob Nesler with additional engineering, mixing and mastering by Matt Martin. The band has paired the single with a lyric video that features a collage that perpetuates the airy space-rock feel of the music. They have also announced two upcoming shows in April, one in their hometown of Athens at the legendary 40 Watt, and the other at Atlanta's Smiths Olde Bar.

Shane Toriscelli started Son & Thief in 2014 while attending the University of Georgia. After several jam sessions with a group of local players including Lawton on lead guitar, the band's initial lineup was solidified. Since then, the band has been ever-changing and evolving, just like Toriscelli and the music itself. In February of 2015, the band independently released their debut EP, Cardinal, which has garnered over 140,000 plays on Spotify, and its tracks, "Father" and "High and Low" were recently licensed by MTV. The follow up single, "All I Care About" has almost 60,000 plays on Spotify and was featured on their "Fresh Finds" Playlist.

"Million Dollar Rocket" is the product of experimental sounds and vulnerable lyrics.
The earthy tone is sure to catch the attention of all listeners. Stream or Download now to find out for yourself. To learn more about future releases or upcoming shows, check out SonAndThief.com.
