New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Spiegelworld) - For the last several years, the traveling Spiegelworld circus has transformed the South Street Seaport into a sprawling carnival of theater, music and entertainment. With numerous circus and cabaret performances, live musicians, and a thumping DJ tent that goes till the wee hours, Spiegelworld has become one of New York's most unique venues and destinations, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River.

The tent's DJ programming gets started this weekend. Curated by Global Rain Dance, and with four distinct DJ events running from Thursday through Sunday each week, Basic NYC is on board for hosting the first Sunday afternoon-evening event. Dubbed "Playa", the Sunday party is set to become one of the Spiegelworld's highlights this season, as numerous party groups from around New York (including Biatch Corp and Benny Soto and Rob Fernandez from Dance.Here.Now) host their own house-music flavored fiestas.

The opening weekend closes out on Sunday August 10th with a headlining performance from Distant Music boss Jon Cutler. Jon is one of the defining figures of New York's homegrown house music scene, a veteran producer and remixer whose soulful deep house sound has been moving dancefloors for well over a decade. He's best known as the producer behind 2001's "It's Yours", a collaboration highlighted by a memorable spoken word vocal from E-Man. The track went from NYC favorite to international sensation, and continues to make waves with remixes and re-releases year after year. His productions mix the swinging rhythms and beats that are the signature groove of classic New York "garage", with thick layers of melody, instrumentation and percussion. It's an energizing, uplifting dancefloor mix that never fails to get a crowd moving.

Also on the lineup will the Stimulus Response crew, which features the diverse underground styles of Lola, Keith Blackstone and the Urban Relief Project Hosted by the one and only SILVERBULL, Stimulus Response DJs are fixtures at Pacha and other renowned parties throughout the city. Warming things up will be Glideslope boss Mikey G, while Basic NYC's Sleepy & Boo close out the event. There is not a more breathtaking outdoor venue in the whole city, and this party promises to be a great way to get the Spiegelworld season up and running.
