LONDON, UK (BBC) - A clutch of the world's biggest rock bands, led by Stereophonics, will battle it out to take the main honours at one of the UK's main music awards ceremonies in London on Monday.
Welsh band Stereophonics lead the nominations for the annual Q Awards, having been nominated for four prizes.
Irish superband U2 are up for three awards, while Travis and Radiohead both have a chance in the best album and best act categories.
The Q Awards are considered the most prestigious full awards, after the Brits, for alternative and rock music in the country.

Winners are voted for by music fans and organisers promise to "celebrate something other than money-making... or the esoteric tastes of a tiny, shadowy cabal of critics".
Last year, pop singer Robbie Williams walked out of the ceremony after a slanging match with Oasis star Liam Gallagher.
Travis were named best act in the world last year, and this time they will be challenged by Stereophonics, U2, REM, Radiohead and 1999 winners Manic Street Preachers.
Stereophonics are also nominated for best single, best album and best live act.
Close behind them are U2, who are also in the running for best album and best live act.

Stereophonics were Sir Richard Branson's V2 label's first signings some five years ago.
Since then, the trio - made up of singer Kelly Jones, drummer Stuart Cable and bassist Richard Jones - have gone from strength to strength.
Their third album JEEP, released in April, went to number one and has spawned three top 20 singles.
Meanwhile superband U2, who have been recording for more than two decades, are enjoying success with album All That You Can't Leave Behind - their 14th.
In the best new act category, Mercury Prize nominees Turin Brakes, Goldfrapp and Tom McRae are in the running.
They will compete with Starsailor, The Strokes and Dido.

Harvey could complete a double if her Mercury Prize-winning album Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea also triumphs in the best album category.
Competition comes from Radiohead's Amnesiac, Muse with Origin of Symmetry and The Invisible Band by Travis as well as U2 and Stereophonics.
Voting
Fatboy Slim, who swept the board at the MTV video awards, is in the running for best video with Weapon of Choice.
Gorillaz, Basement Jaxx, Avalanches, I Monster and Nelly Furtado will compete against the DJ.
The first Q Awards were held in 1990, and winners are chosen by readers of Q magazine, visitors to its website and Orange mobile phone users.
This year's ceremony will be held at London's Park Lane Hotel.
The Q Awards will be presented at a ceremony in London on 29 October.
