New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Swedish folk-punk band Punk Floyd are set to make a welcome return to Cambridge following their hugely popular appearances at the Cambridge Folk Festival and the city's Syd Barrett celebrations on Friday May 1st 2020 as part of only two dates in the UK.
For their return to Cambridge, the band will be back with a refreshed set list offering their inimitable and quirky take on some of Pink Floyd's classic hits, in the city that originally spawned Floyd itself.
Singer/percussionist and general 'messer-up of songs' HÃ¥kan Nilsson said "We are thrilled to be coming back to Cambridge, the home of Pink Floyd. We have had such a brilliant time on our previous visits and the Cambridge Folk Festival in particular was one of the fondest memories from our career so far. We look forward to sharing our versions of Floyd classics with local audiences one more time".

The Swedes, who play a unique folk-punk take on Pink Floyd classics, first played the UK in 2016 where they had the honour of performing in front of Syd Barretts family and friends plus celebrity guests including Graham Coxon from Blur as part of 'Syd Barrett - A Celebration' at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Proving a hit with the audiences the band returned for a city centre gig in 2017 as part of the Cambridge Folk Festival spin-off event City Roots and subsequently for a packed out club tent performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival itself in 2018. The memorable performance in the Festival's club tent was a stand-out of that year's Sunday with the tent packed to bursting.

The band, who have a habit of just playing everywhere and anywhere also became a campsite hit by turning up for the late-night open mic slot as well as entertaining festival-goers with the presence of their unmissable yellow 1964 former Swedish postal bus that carried them over from Sweden.

However, do not get disheartened if you miss the Cambridge show as Punk Floyd have agreed to add another show to satisfy your audio needs and will be performing at the Giffard Arms in Wolverhampton the following evening on Saturday 2nd May!
