New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ KatZen Rock Band; National Fibromyalgia Association) - Tamara Cimmerian, lead singer/songwriter and pianist of new rock music project KatZen, was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after suffering chronic unexplained pain following the birth of her child. Tamara struggled to get back to daily activities. A musician since age five, she found working on music helped to relieve pain and provided a creative outlet. On her new album "Overcome," Tamara utilizes her four-octave-range voice to express her battle against hardships. Now through February 15, 2010, Tamara has teamed up with the National Fibromyalgia Association to raise awareness and will donate one-third of KatZen's "Overcome" album proceeds to the nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the millions of people with fibromyalgia.

"Overcome" is a trio of songs about overcoming adversity. Tamara is joined on the album by drummer Forrest Robinson, who has played with India.Arie and TLC; and guitarist Jesse Berent. "Overcome" opens with the song "Shadow," which describes emotions of feeling second best. "Try" depicts endurance and reflects on Tamara's life with fibromyalgia. A chord runs through the entire ballad without stopping, embodying a metaphor for never giving up.

The third song, "No Such Thing" is uplifting and contains a Ganesha chant, Ganesha is the Hindu Lord known for removing obstacles. The lyrics speak of reversing unfortunate events.

"I was in horrible widespread pain until I got help. I had to stop thinking of my diagnosis of fibromyalgia as a defeat. There's no such thing as a coincidence, there's a reason for everything. I wanted to do something positive and help others," says Tamara. "Working to benefit the National Fibromyalgia Association is a tremendous gift."

Now through February 15, 2010, one-third of KatZen's proceeds from "Overcome" will be donated to the National Fibromyalgia Association. "Overcome" can be purchased through iTunes and Amazon, as well as other digital retailers for $2.97 and individual songs for $0.99.
