Temecula Valley Balloon And Wine Festival Unveils Rock/pop Lineup With Third Eye Blind, Candlebox And Lee Dewyze, Plus A Tribute To A Fallen Athlete
Temecula, CA (Top40 Charts/ Melodys Ad Works) The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival is offering an entertainment-filled 2-1/2 days June 3-5, 2011 when hot air balloons, wineries, rock and roll and alternative rock bands and freestyle motocross riders all converge at Lake Skinner, for the 28th annual event.

Headliners on two stages include: Third Eye Blind, season nine American Idol Lee DeWyze, Candlebox, ChalkFarM, (Saturday, June 4), Dennis DeYoung and Ambrosia (Friday, June 3).

Best known as a founding member and vocalist for Styx, Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx will headline the Festival's Friday night concerts. DeYoung and his six-member band will showcase hit songs "Lady," "Babe" "Come Sail Away," "Too Much Time on My Hands, and "Rockin' the Paradise."

While with Styx, DeYoung acted as lead vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter and producer. DeYoung wrote and sang lead on seven of Styx's eight top 10 hits. Styx is the only band to ever record four consecutive triple platinum albums.

Also in concert on Friday night is the band Ambrosia, progressive rock band that came to national prominence in 1975 with the release of their self-titled debut album. "Ambrosia" was produced and engineered by the legendary Alan Parsons, and featured the top ten hit "Holdin' on to Yesterday", as well as the FM classic "Nice, Nice, Very Nice." Other hits include: "You're the Only Woman" and "Biggest Part of Me."

The Festival will attempt a world record for the largest glow stick design during the Friday night concerts.

Third Eye Blind will headline the Saturday Wine Country Rocks concert lineup on the main stage. The band hit alternative rock charts in 1997 with their self-titled album "Third Eye Blind" and several hit singles including "Semi-Charmed Life," "How's It Going to Be," "Losing a Whole Year," and "Jumper." Jim Carrey sang "Jumper" in the movie "Yes Man" and the song regularly sells over 5,000 singles a week, 10 years after its release. In 2010 Third Eye Blind co-headlined The Bamboozle Roadshow and announced a new album sometime in 2011.

Special guest Lee DeWyze thrilled millions of fans when he was crowned the "Season 9" winner of "American Idol." The reigning champion will perform songs from his major label debut "Live It Up" at the Festival, just weeks before kicking off his first headlining tour in Columbus, Ohio on June 19.

The album's first single, "Sweet Serendipity" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcEG72N5No8 made an impressive debut last year, introducing listeners to the singer's compelling tales of chance and love.

Candlebox is an American alternative rock band that hit the rock scene in 1993 with a self-titled album that sold more than 4 million copies and peaked at No 7 on Billboard charts. Notable songs are "Change," "You," and "Far Behind." The band went on an hiatus from 2000 to 2005 and reunited in 2006.

Chalk FarM is best known for their single "Lie On Lie" also hit fame in the late 90s only to break up in 2000 after making an appearance in the movie "Coyote Ugly" where they played their single "Like Water".

A popular feature at the Festival, the Freestyle Motocross Demo with Metal Mulisha riders Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Todd Potter, Wes Agee defies gravity Sunday at the main stage with two shows.

Recently Metal Mulisha suffered the loss of Jeff Ox Kargola during a motorcycle accident that took place outside San Felipe Mexico. Kargola, 27, started riding motocross at the age of 12 and turned pro at 16. He has performed at the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival in the past. The shows will be dedicated to Ox as he will be remembered as a friend, family member and one of the greatest FMX athletes of all time.

Jimmy Fitzpatrick, a local Temecula residence will all be performing live in the Rockstar Metal Mulisha FMX show in dedication to Ox. Many riders from the Metal Mulisha team and more from Temecula will come hang out and watch their teammate, friends and family perform live for thousands of southern California fans in Temecula during this special and yearly annual event. Metal Mulisha will also be filming this live event.

Wine Garden guests will be treated to a rocking "world" beat with the Young Dubliners, a rock band with Celtic influence, headlining and special guests Common Sense offering their brand of world/reggae rock that has made them a Southern California favorite.

All concerts are included in the admission price. Wine gardens feature up to 20 premium wineries with wine tasting, food sampling, fine art and chef demonstrations.
