The Avalanches Set Third Album 'We Will Always Love You'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Avalanches are ready to blast off with album No. 3.
The Australian electronic-leaning outfit have a new LP in the can, entitled We Will Always Love You.

According to its creators, now the Melbourne duo of Tony Di Blasi and Robbie Chater, it's an "exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit." But there's no launch date, yet.

We Will Always Love You promises to be an interstellar affair. The artwork, designed by Jonathan Zawada, features Ann Druyan whose "cosmic love story inspired the music."

Druyan was the Creative Director of NASA's Voyager Interstellar Message Project, which fired golden discs into deep space on the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecrafts. Those records captured sounds from earth in its grooves.

Also, she co-wrote the landmark 1980 documentary series Cosmos, hosted by the late astrophysicist and educator Carl Sagan, whom she married the following year.

Druyan and Sagan's passion for science and knack for storytelling has inspired countless skywatchers, including Neil deGrasse Tyson and Seth MacFarlane, who presented a new series of Cosmos in 2014. Druyan was a producer on that project.

We're very happy to share with you the cover for our new album, "We Will Always Love You". Designed by our dear friend Jonathan Zawada, the sleeve features Ann Druyan, (Creative Director of the Voyager Golden Record Project) , who's cosmic love story inspired this music. In keeping with the album's theme of everlasting love as an undying vibration, Ann's image was run through a spectograph, turned into sound, and back again. The image remains hidden, deep within in the grooves of the music, for you to discover if you wish. An exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit, "We Will Always Love You" will be available for pre-order next week, with more details to follow soon. Count Di Blasi and Chater among those touched by Druyan.
"In keeping with the album's theme of everlasting love as an undying vibration, Ann's image was run through a spectograph, turned into sound, and back again," the statement continues. "The image remains hidden, deep within in the grooves of the music, for you to discover if you wish."

We Will Always Love You will arrive on the heels of several new recordings, including "Wherever You Go," featuring Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry & Clypso; "Reflecting Light" featuring Sananda Maitreya & Vashti Bunyan; the Blood Orange-featuring "We Will Always Love You" and "Running Red Lights" with Rivers Cuomo and Pink Siifu.

A new Avalanches album is always cause for celebration. Despite the rumbling undertones of their name, the pace of the Avalanches' output has been positively glacial.

Sixteen years separated the release of their critically-lauded 2000 debut Since I Left You, and the followup, Wildflower, which opened at No. 1 in Australia and No. 10 in the U.K.

We Will Always Love You will be available for pre-order next week.
