The Band Family Effect: Reuniting The Family Of Man Through Peace
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Without question, music is a mighty and powerful force in and of itself. (Music is sound, sound is vibration, vibration is energy, energy is power.) I would even venture to say that music is one of THE MOST powerful forces on planet Earth. It has the power to alter the moods of ALL of mankind, (bring us joy, make us cry, make us remember, outrage us, and even make us fall in love), inspire us, motivate us, make us dance, make us think, and even unite us as people. ...On a very large scale.
Over the past decade and a half, working as a promotions executive in the music industry, and/or
as a booking agent, I have had the immense pleasure and privilege of working with HUNDREDS of THE MOST PROLIFIC artists and acts in the music industry, (everything from the best up and coming to long celebrated legendary acts). The act that is my latest endeavor in artist promotions are no exception to that rule, though they are indeed EXCEPTIONAL: not only as musicians, (which no doubt they are), but also as human beings. ...As this band KNOWS the power of music, EMBRACES IT and is UTILIZING IT as their mission not only to deliver great music to the masses, but also to deliver a much needed message.
That band is Family Effect.
Their message and mission is to reunite the family of man through peace, love and the power of great music; and in coming together as a ONE VERY LARGE FAMILY, (the family of man), to ADDRESS the necessary changes that are needed in the world today, and impact others in a positive way. For this outstanding band, it is not all about achieving fame and fortune, their success is all about making a difference.

Though the band itself is brand new, the performers in this outstanding band are no new comers by any means. They are all long time, seasoned veteran musicians that have blazed their own musical trails throughout the years, all with the same vision in mind. Call it fate, call it destiny, call it a divine appointment from God, as profoundly enough, some of the members of Family Effect, were in fact, long lost relatives. ...Separated, but with the same vision for decades! How cool is that? ...I would say VERY COOL INDEED. ...Needless to say, that is PART of the story behind the name of the band "Family Effect".

Meet the band:

Fronting the band, is a super dynamic, vocalist and songwriter Peggy Doyle Zuniga, who is a powerful musical force in and of herself. She has performed over the years in such acts as Zuniga Project, Pretzel, (out of Chicago), Scandal, (out of the Washington DC area and Florida), Family Affair, (Washington DC and Baltimore areas), and with Larry Evoy, (of Canada). Fans of those bands, having ever seen her perform, can attest to her unforgettable and absolutely immense talent and stage presence.

Jess Zuniga, as a lead guitarist, brings to this 'musical family table' remarkably smooth guitar prowess in a signature style that is all JESS. As co-fronting lead and backing vocalist, his finesse and prowess is equally as impressive. Being the husband of Peggy Doyle Zuniga he is well known and respected as a musician for his performance in all the above mentioned acts; having performed and toured together for decades, has seasoned him well into the outstanding and captivating musician that he is today.

Both Peggy and Jess have performed periodically together with Tom Sligh and Treasures of the Heart Ministries, which has a highly acclaimed and successful satellite television ministry.

On percussion is Laura Simmonds Jenney, veteran percussionist of such bands as The Van Gillis Band, (Jacksonville, Florida), Mindsweep, (Jacksonville), Out of the Blue, (Jacksonville), and Catch 22, (out of Terre Haute, Indiana), amongst other bands she has contributed to in her respectable experiences as a live and studio percussionist. Laura Simmonds Jenney is the first cousin of Peggy Doyle Zuniga.

Their sound: Though the band Family Effect definitely possesses a very distinct and trademark sound and style all their own, it is next to impossible to 'pin down' their impressive sound to any one genre.
Their performance capability expands from a vast array of multi-genrel material, consisting of both well 'put together' originals and 'super modified' covers ranging in styles from alternative, rock, classic rock, classic style soul, funk, jazz, blues, R&B, country, Americana, country, Gospel and beyond.

Their capabilities to perform impeccably in a wide array of genres only serves to further attest to their high caliber of musicianship and viability as musicians because of their ability to thoroughly entertain large audiences with a varied musical interests and tastes, which makes the band Family Effect a 'sure bet' for concert and festival promoters and/or club venues; because of their rich amount of 'broad audience and marketing appeal', which is 'the stuff' that optimally increases concert ticket sales and/or creates the ability to draw larger crowds. Given their vision and mission to make a difference by uniting people on a very large scale, through peace, love and music, and coming together to make necessary changes, their ability to draw and thoroughly well entertain diverse masses in such a viably vast range of genres also makes their vision all the more plausible and probable for greater success.

Some of the issues that the band Family Effect are interested in addressing would be US Veteran's issues, homelessness, domestic violence/abuse issues, animal rights issues, elderly issues, mental illness, and of course, to raise money and awareness to fight diseases such as cancer, in which numerous of their own family members have either suffered greatly and/or died from.

The recent and long over due reunion of Family Effect's band members incidentally came about because of a well loved member of their family who had been diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer. That relative, is none other than Phil Bell, well known and respected, long time syndicated radio and music industry executive and radio personality.
Miraculously, out of his devastating diagnoses and his illness, the family experienced nothing short of a miracle, as God completely healed Phil Bell from this horrific disease. (And glory be to God, today Phil Bell is getting healthier every day and is even looking amazingly great!)
After personally experiencing that God is still in the business of miracles, in the spirit of thanksgiving and giving back, the band and it's mission was formed during this family reunion. ...Which probably would not have even happened otherwise. (That too was nothing short of a miracle.) Phil Bell is the first cousin of Lead Vocalist Peggy Doyle Zuniga and the brother of Percussionist Laura Simmonds Jenney.

The band Family Effect's influences are as diverse and broad ranging as their musical talent is, which no doubt, is a contributing factor for their immense amount of versatility. Their influence include:
Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers Band, Dewey Via, Earth, Wind & Fire, James Taylor, The Beatles, Tower of Power, Average White Band, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Gov't Mule, Johnny Neel, Chick Willis, Etta James, Foreigner, Boston, Deep Purple, Three Dog Night, Boz Scags, Billy Joel, Bobby Caldwell, Grand Funk Railroad, The Commodores, George Benson, Brian Colberson, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Miracles, Sam & Dave, Miles Davis, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, BB King, Sly & The Family Stone, Mother's Finest, Reberta Flack, Anita Baker, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Little Feat, Jackson Browne, Fleetwood Mac, Basha, Incognito, Van Morrison, Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, America, The Eagles, Jo Dee Messina, Carol King, Kenny Loggins, Seals & Croft, ZZ top, Patsy Cline, Natalie Cole, Maroon 5, Blake Shelton, Booker T and the MGs, Sam & Dave, LTD, James Brown, Steven Curtis Chapman, Petra, Matthew Ward, Russ Taff, Amy Grant, Milo Lafevre, Broken Heart, Martha Munici, The Winans, (Bebe & Cece), The Imperials, The Staple Singers, Rufus with Chaka Kahn, Steve Winwood, Santana, Journey, Bad Company, and Pure Prairie League, amongst many notable others.

Though all the band's members have previously released CDs from working with other bands and projects, the newly formed band Family Effect are currently working on brand new material for their upcoming debut CD which they are planning to record in the very near future in both Nashville, Tennessee and the
St. Augustine, Florida area, while performing live dates in the Southeast US region.

Though the band Family Effect is breaking new ground with a brand new sound and their soon to be released album is still in the works, fans and music industry executives alike can listen to music from Peggy and Jess Zuniga's previous works by visiting their "Zuniga Project" Reverb Nation site at:

Peggy and Jess Zuniga's music is currently available through CD Baby, (under the name "Zuniga Project"), https://www.cdbaby.com/cd/zunigaproject2 as will their new band, Family Effect's new CD will be upon it's official release.

Of course, for the release of their upcoming CD, plans are already in the works for a tour to promote their CD. Since their's is a worldwide mission, after initially touring as much of the US as possible, the band Family Effect would absolutely love to perform for audiences worldwide. Interest in countries they would especially like to tour in include European destinations such as The United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Germany, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Sweden. They would also love to visit and tour in such places as Mexico, Central and South America, The Caribbean; as well as Australia and Asian destinations such as Russia, Japan, Thailand and beyond.

Fans of these outstanding performers can consider this your personal 'written invitation' at each of the band "Family Effect's absolutely sizzling live performances to be a part of the FAMILY REUNION of the family of man. There will be lots of peace, love and laughter being served up, along with dancing and a great time to be had by all. Yes, the era of peace and love is finally back! ...And with Family Effect as THE band for this reunion, the music is going to be ABSOLUTELY GREAT!
