The Bodeans Channel Heartland Roots On 'American Made' (June 12)
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) On June 12, the BoDeans will release 'American Made,' their most personal, ambitious album to date. While the album finds the group embracing their heartland roots, they'll embark on the next chapter of their storied career in April with a new line-up and a massive national tour. See full itinerary below; more dates will be announced soon.

"'Roots rock' was a label I fought when I was younger," says BoDeans founder, primary writer and frontman Kurt Neumann, "but I came to realize that if by "roots" you mean blues, rock, country and soul all slammed together into one sound, then yes

On 'American Made', Neumann channels these classic American sounds to express his vision of the American spirit. In addition to eleven original songs, the album also features a deeply felt cover of BruceSpringsteen's "I'm on Fire."

Producer John Alagia (Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, Ben Folds) helped bring grit and groove to Neumann's exploration of the joys and frustrations of growing up in working-class Wisconsin. Despite what the eye-catching title might imply, "Jay Leno" chronicles a traumatic event from Neumann's childhood that would steer his life in a new direction, while on "Chemical" he reflects on the alcoholism that led to his fathers' death.

To help finance state-of-the-art sessions at L.A.'s Village Recorder, Neumann even sold his beloved truck. Throughout the ups and downs of crafting such personal songs, his fans' support gave him inspiration to keep digging. "I thought about all the letters people have written me over the years explaining how our music had played an intimate role in some part of their lives

BoDeans will hit the road in April for a four-month trek with their new lineup. See full dates below.
