The Jets Set For Reunion Tour; Planning New Music Release
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) It was a time of punk rock music, spiked hair and lots of heavy eye shadow. The music of the 80's featured everything from the early sounds of rap and the new jack style to dance-able pop. And that fun, energetic style of pop was the flavor for the popular group The JETS, who burst onto the scene during the era.

The Jets were formed by eight brothers and sisters of the musical Wolfgramm family: Leroy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth, and Moana, and were a ready-made band from Minneapolis. As offspring of parents who emigrated from the South Pacific nation of Tonga to the US, this ensemble got an early start in music singing and playing instruments around the house.

One day, their playing music for family and friends and talent shows turned into a record deal that was the start of something very special. The year was 1986, and The Jets' first self-titled album was released by MCA. The group had lots of mass appeal with their innocent, good looks and upbeat charm. And no one could anticipate that their first effort would get so much attention. Their first single, "Curiosity," hit the airwaves and put the group on the map. Now that people were learning about the Jets, they were anxious for more hits that were hopefully on the way. And that's exactly what they got! The hit single, "Crush on You," was getting airplay across the country from pop and R&B stations to dance clubs and car stereos. To show their versatility, another of the singles from the project, "You Got it All," hit the charts as a slow dance anthem that listeners absolutely adored.

The hits kept coming for The Jets! Now that the band was known for their bouncy, dance tracks and meaningful love songs, the stage was already set for another hit album, which included, "Rocket 2 U," "Make It Real," "Cross My Broken Heart," and more.

The decade was nearing its close, and The Jets didn't release a project, and instead chose a brief hiatus. In 1990, MCA released the group's next CD, the last for the label, entitled The Best Of The Jets .

Today, The Jets are making new music, gearing up for a reunion tour and are ready to share their enthusiasm for music. And though the group may have experienced only a brief stay in the musical spotlight, they go down in harmonious history as singers who simply love music.

Let's dance and celebrate!
