New York, NY (Top40 Charts) LA symphonic metal band, The Longing, unveil a poignant world message with their 2018 Christmas song. Personal Xmas message from Laura Bradley, band founder & lead vocalist: "My fervent wish is that, this holiday season, where we can control our words and actions, we'll find a sense of hope and allow peace to descend upon our weary hearts".
Unwrapping Christmas with the candid honesty that we've come to expect from this LA symphonic metal band, The Longing present their fused festive track, 'Silent Holy Night', released on 7 December, as an alternative combination to the well known melodic classics 'Silent Night' and 'Oh Holy Night'.

Positively angelic vocals echo forth from lead singer, Laura Bradley, as her voice commands and controls the lyrical content of the Christmas classic that we all know so well, 'Oh Holy Night'. From the first chord, the spirit of Christmas floods through the gentle melody of this classic reworking, entitled 'Silent Holy Night', as Laura masterfully guides us through the star-studded Christmas eve. But, fans of The Longing will know that the band weave a greater meaning and depth to everything they create - 'Silent Holy Night' is no exception. The double-track fusion melodically depicts the world-angst that we find is currently forced upon us, the turbulence of the frantic instrumentation supporting the calmness of Bradley's vocals emphasising our world torment.

Laura Bradley comments, "As a musician, I look to the music for comfort and inspiration. When the opportunity came to record two holiday songs, I submerged myself straight into the heart of the lyrics. I'm not entirely sure why, but it seemed like they offered a global message of comfort. 'Silent Holy Night', The Longing's combination of 'O Holy Night' and 'Silent Night' seem to me to speak to the universal heart of our current world condition, and the underlying need for hope and peace".

In a year where they've released their enhanced album 'Tales of Torment Deluxe', The Longing are rapidly snowballing attention on a global scale, 'Silent Holy Night' will seal their success this Christmas as a track with festive meaning.
