Yasmin Kiddle is a self-taught musician (guitar, bass, drums and, for good measure, piano!), writing, composing, playing and even producing the bulk of her material, initially in her converted bedroom and more recently in Paul Weller's
Black Barn studio, via personal invitation! Influenced by the music she grew up listening to, not just soul legends like Minnie Ripperton and
Aretha Franklin but 60's rock bands and more recent influences from the worlds of grime and R&B. With a voice and skill which belies her years, Yasmin's latest tracks coincide with a tour of Scottish arenas as support to Ocean Colour Scene.
Growing up in London a half-Greek Cypriot,
Yasmin has experienced the bleaker sides of life before her determination set herself on a steady course to fame. Battling depression as well as dealing with the issues that come with finding yourself as a young, gay woman and the break-up of a relationship, Yasmin's songs carry a weight of emotion which can only come from real-life experience.
Yasmin Kiddle has a natural aptitude for both working in the studio as well as on stage, allowing her songs to naturally find a home in the listener's ear, no matter what their age or background.
