New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "'Step Brothers' has made Catalina Island synonymous with the Catalina Wine Mixer and we're thrilled to host this inaugural event."

The Original Catalina Wine Mixer will take place on Sunday, September 13 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Descanso Beach Club on Catalina Island. Santa Catalina Island Company (SCICO), The Xceptional Music Company and Island Express Helicopters invite guests to take part in the re-creation of the renowned event from "Step Brothers," the 2008 comedy starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

"'Step Brothers' has made Catalina Island synonymous with the Catalina Wine Mixer," said Ben Villalobos, director, food and beverage, for Santa Catalina Island Company. "We're thrilled to host this inaugural event and to grow the annual mixer for fans of the classic movie and the island."

Headlining the Original Catalina Wine Mixer will be cult phenomenon, THE DAN BAND. Known for their original covers of female-performed pop songs, THE DAN BAND has made numerous cameos in film favorites including "The Hangover" and "Old School". The band has received rave reviews from media including the New York Times, Rolling Stone and Variety, and was named "The hottest ticket in Hollywood" by Entertainment Weekly.

Live performances by Adam Lasher of American Idol and Tom Solis will also entertain on the sandy white beaches of Descanso Beach Club. Trinchero Family Estates will offer guests wine from its collection of wineries, including Joel Gott, Napa Cellars, Taken Wine Co., Folie a Deux, among others.

Guests can arrive on Catalina Island via Catalina Express in just about an hour with up to 30 daily departures from three ports located in Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point. For those wishing to return to the mainland after the event, a 9:30 p.m. late-night return from Avalon to Long Beach has been added to the schedule for the day of the event.
