Thee Sacred Souls Share "Lady Love," Last Preview From Their Self-Titled Debut Out August 26, 2022
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Already deemed "Daptone's new hope" by MOJO, Thee Sacred Souls continue the buildup to their highly anticipated self-titled debut album (out August 26 / Daptone) with the release of "Lady Love." A song about second chances in love, it captures the energy of the band's live shows and is a buoyant, jovial addition to their quickly expanding catalog of quality tracks. "Lady Love" sees the rock-solid rhythm section of Alex Garcia (drums) and Sal Samano (bass) in fine form, while vocalist Josh Lane opens up about lost love: "If ever I was given a second shot at your love, girl, I'd take it." Garcia pulls double duty as guitarist on this track, and Lane's call-and-response with a duo of backing vocalists gives the song a nostalgic, dream-like quality. Listen to "Lady Love" here:

Thee Sacred Souls will also be airing a live performance via Bandcamp on August 24th, two days before the album release.
The album was recorded with Daptone co-founder Gabe Roth at his Riverside, CA studio. Roth attended Thee Sacred Souls' very first club performance in 2019; the tape was rolling just three days later. The ensemble was formed earlier that year by drummer/songwriter Alex Garcia and bassist/songwriter Sal Samano when they were 23 years old. The duo bonded over their similar experiences growing up in southern California and a mutual affinity for record collecting. Garcia and Samano found inspiration in the lowrider scene of Chula Vista and Imperial Beach, and their growing collection of crate dug records proved to be an ideal match. All they needed was a singer. Enter singer/songwriter Josh Lane who brought his love for soul titans like Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson to the fold, with show-stopping vocals that he honed while studying classical voice in college, singing arias and Italian opera. Together, the trio weaves together hints of Chicano, Philly, Chicago, Detroit, and even Panama soul into something that's both timeless and distinctly modern.

The accolades speak for themselves: co-signs ranging from Alicia Keys, Princess Nokia, Black Pumas, Timbaland, Gary Clark, Jr. and sampled by Curren$y, 50 million streams globally for just a handful of singles released, standing ovations and encore demands from the Beacon in NYC to the Greek in LA, and sold-out headlining shows with little advance promotion. NPR Music featured "Easier Said Than Done" just after the album announcement was made in June. The band also recently announced a partnership with Madre Mezcal, and has curated a playlist titled 'Soul Tones' that is a mix of laid back Latin/African/Middle Eastern and some soul tunes to put you in the mezcal mood. Listen HERE.

Thee Sacred Souls, who tour as a 7-piece including guitar, keyboards and two backing vocalists, recently finished a run with Belle and Sebastian, were on the road earlier this year with St. Paul & The Broken Bones, joined Cory Henry at Central Park SummerStage and will play several more headlining shows this autumn including their biggest headlining show in NYC yet at Bowery Ballroom on November 14.
