New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Los Angeles punk-funk quintet Thumpasaurus are a gang of superbly-skilled musicians taking hugely divergent influences and channelling them into something unique. Today they announce The Book Of Thump tour dates, taking them across the country before heading to SXSW, followed by summer festival performances at Firefly and Electric Forest, with more to be added.

Thumpasaurus offer up their own unique stew wherein, hidden in plain sight and sound, you'll find traces of Zappa, Beefheart, James Chance, Funkadelic/Parliament, Morphine, Devo, Talking Heads and Prince, as well as some rocking heavy metal, free jazz, musical theatre and even some light opera references thrown in for good measure.
Thumpasaurus released The Book Of Thump last summer and today share the video for "Alien".

The band says, "'Alien' is a song about moments where you question your own reality and notice that you feel like you are walking around in a foreign planet trying to blend in with the native species. In our case, on Earth, it's about feeling like an outsider in your own head while your appearance comes off as normal - Anyway, instead of freaking out over this weird disassociation in your mind- looking at your body and existence as a vessel to PARTY. (Or enjoy life while we are here.) This can be done via listening to our future funky/ alien disco music."

Thumpasaurus is a band that explores internet culture and can be found performing what they call "internet stunts." Lead singer Lucas Tamaren turned himself into viral meme as karate chopping master Sensei Boland, challenging the world to bring him something he couldn't karate chop. The result was viral success of their music video, "Mental Karate" resulting in Buzzfeed picking up on the video & the band's music being shared by the likes of Alt-J, Shakey Graves, and Rob Thomas amongst others. Thumpasaurus have also received praise and radio play from Billboard, Magnetic, Alternative Press, KCRW, BBC Radio 1, Giles Peterson at BB6 radio show and more.
