Tiagz Unveils New EP They Call Me Tiago
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) After translating his Tik Tok dominance to upwards of 60 million-plus streams in rare fashion, Tiagz releases his new EP, They Call Me Tiago, today.
He preceded the project with his breakout banger "My Heart Went Oops." On the heels of its success, Business Insider chronicled the artist's meteoric rise through his combination of agile marketing acumen, D.I.Y. production, and head-turning rhymes. Tiagz sampled the trending 1951 jazz staple "Oops!" by Lawrence Welk & His Champagne Music and transformed it into a buoyant post-millennial banger. Catching fire, Tik Tok queen Charli D'Amelio chose to broadcast a video soundtracked by "My Heart Went Oops" to her 55 million followers. With organic support from Addision Rae and more, it generated 3 million Tik Toks and counting. Daily Dot also touted his impressive revival of the original.

The track's success has organically transferred to DSPs, putting up 30 million total streams and counting so far. Additionally, he nears 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, cementing him as a rare cross-platform phenomenon. Tiagz just broke down the meaning behind the track with Genius last week.

Now, the five-track EP kicks off with the animated music video of the title track "They Call Me Tiago (Her Name Is Margo)" and boasts three previously unreleased anthems. The quirky "ZOOM" speaks to the times with lines like, "Stuck in quarantine, and I went boom," while "I Said No (No No Square)" hops along on an off-kilter loop as his whispers give way to another hypnotic hook. The project culminates on the emotionally charged "Something From Me." It illustrates another layer of the artist, cutting deep with its vulnerable recollections over samples of rainfall and skittering beats.
