Trinity Ward Blazes The Trail For Scifitronica
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) While sci-fi may not be the first thing people think to fuse with music, independent artist Trinity Ward has crafted a way to blend electronic music with a science fiction theme, one of his biggest loves next to creating music. He calls this fusion scifitronica. A solo artist on keyboards, including synths and samplers, and some backing vocals, he draws inspiration from a variety of genres, from dance and ambient to metal, particularly in his track "Reactor," off his latest album. Fans have described his music as "a good mix of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and New Order" and as having "elements of early Depeche Mode with a touch of Kraftwerk and the merest hint of Yellow in a backbeat."

Having released four self-published albums over the years, Trinity Ward kicked off his discography with Enter the Infinite in 2010 followed by Echoes From Earth in 2011. Two years later, he released Soul Destroyer (2013). His latest album, Reactor (2014), is an exciting journey into a wide range of EDM with flourishes of other genres, such as the aforementioned metal influence on the album's title track. He's currently hard at work on a new album, which he plans to use to continue to expand his reach to fans across the world.

One interesting aspect of Trinity Ward's career is that he is an entirely recording-based artist. Not performing live, he may seem to lose out on potential fans in his local scene in Wellington, New Zealand. But his focus on online promotion has still propelled him to global fame, including more than 122,000 likes on Facebook, an impressive number for an independent artist.

Trinity Ward has been featured by a few different media outlets, including Sine FM, based in Doncaster, UK, and DCR Dover Community Radio, based in Dover, UK, on terrestrial radio as well as Internet outlets, such as Earbits Radio, based in Venice, Calif., NBTMusicRadio, based in Berlin, and RelaxFreeRadio.org, based in New York. He's also been featured in a couple of articles on Sound Sunday from MakeUseOf.com, including "Free Electronic Dance Music: Stream, Download & Party" and "Don't Dance, Just Move: Electronic Dance & House Hits Remixed & Inspired." Klick Push selected him through ReverbNation to make his music available for download as part of online promotions and Rendez-Vous Digital, though Chaos Music Distribution, for inclusion on compilations throughout Europe. Moshun TV from the United States has licensed his music for use in extreme sports videos.

Trinity Ward has earned notable recognition as of late for his recordings this year. NBTMusicRadio named his album Reactor the 18th best album of 2014 out of 150 albums. NBTMusicRadio also named his track "Evaporator" the 52nd best song of 2014, which was picked up for airplay by Skopemag. This recognition has been realized without the help of live performances but rather the expansive reach of the Internet and Trinity Ward's sheer determination to be heard across the globe.

Trinity Ward's track "Mayak," off Reactor, was featured on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 9, a compilation of international independent artists spanning a wide range of genres who WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Released at CMJ Music Marathon in New York City in October 2014, the digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies are available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page. This compilation feature has helped Trinity Ward receive still more widespread exposure for his unique scifitronica sound.

With a new album on the way, Trinity Ward is set to continue to expand the reach of his music to new and loyal fans far beyond the borders of New Zealand. Putting scifitronica on the map is both his dream and destiny, and it will be exciting to see what he does next with his upcoming album.
