New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic recording artist
Ty Dolla $ign has announced plans for his upcoming US tour. The "DollaSignWorld.com Presents: The
Beach House Tour" kicks off on Tuesday, April 29th at Strummers in Fresno, California and wrapping on May 22nd, with his biggest hometown concert to date, headlining Los Angeles' famed El Rey Theatre (see itinerary below). Additional dates will be unveiled soon - for complete information, please visit www.dollasignworld.com/tour.
The 15-date tour - which marks the multi-talented LA-based artist's first headlining tour - celebrates the recent release of Ty's major label debut, "BEACH HOUSE EP" and its breakout hit single, "Paranoid (Feat. B.o.B)." In addition to currently being featured on iHeartRadio's "New
Music Channel," the DJ Mustard-produced track is currently #4 at urban radio, while also proving a top 10 hit on both Billboard's "Hot R&B Songs" and "Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs" charts. In addition, the "
Paranoid" companion video - directed by Ethan Lader (Bruno Mars, Travie McCoy, B.o.B, OneRepublic) - is fast approaching 11 million views at Ty's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/tydollasign.
Adding to all this excitement, the L.A.-based singer/songwriter/producer is now set for his biggest TV appearance to date for a performance of "Paranoid," backed by legendary band The Roots, on NBC's , slated for Friday, March 21st (check local listings.) The performance follows his recent live appearances on BET's 106 & Park and the nationally syndicated .
Known as a charismatic and smooth live performer, Ty was among the stand-out artists showcasing at last week's South By Southwest
Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, TX, with top publications such as Billboard, SPIN, and Pitchfork, praising Ty as one of the top "artists to watch" at this year's festival. Performing an incredible 16 shows within a 3 day stint, Ty also took part in memorable on-stage collaborations with such like-minded artists as Snoop Dogg, YG, DJ
Steve Aoki and his Taylor Gang family (including Chevy Woods, Tuki Carter and Berner), which was led by his Atlantic Records labelmate, Wiz Khalifa.
"BEACH HOUSE EP" sees Ty collaborating with a wide array of top hip-hop stars and studio wizards, including Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, French Montana, Travi$ Scott,
Fredo Santana, Casey Veggies, with production from Young Chop, DJ
Mustard and even Ty himself. Additionally, the 7-song collection features additional production contributions from violinist/arranger
Peter Lee Johnson. The EP follows the breakthrough mixtapes, "BEACH HOUSE" and "BEACH HOUSE 2," the former acclaimed by Pitchfork for its "dense, immersive production" and "(Ty's) voice: a syrupy tenor that can contract into taut staccato sing-rap or spread out into drippy vocal runs at a moment's notice."
Born Tyrone Griffin,
Ty Dolla $ign has been an in-demand writer, producer, and featured artist since helming YG's 2010 smash, "Toot It and Boot It (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign)." Since then, his credits include work alongside the likes of
Trey Songz ("Fumble")
B.o.B ("HeadBand (Feat. 2Chainz)") and
Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg, whose "Young, Wild & Free (Feat. Bruno Mars)" proved a GRAMMY® Award-nominated blockbuster. The music from Ty's production team, D.R.U.G.S. (Dirty Rotten Underground Sound), dominated the airwaves in 2013. This new era of L.A.-bred producers and musicians -- which also includes DJ Mustard, Nate3D, Chordz and
James Koo -- has redefined the sound of West Coast hip-hop with heavy 808s and a greedy snap.
A series of increasingly hot mixtapes earned him further attention, and has led to call Ty one of the "10 New Artists You Need To Know in 2014." As if all that weren't enough, the gifted singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist has recently collaborated with the likes of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, YG, Lupe Fiasco,
Zendaya and more, while hard at work on his own full length debut album, due out later this year.
