New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Tyler, the Creator's new LP IGOR has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, nielsen report. It is the artist's first No 1 album, and while Father of Asahd's streaming numbers just barely beat IGOR's, the latter sold over twice as many full copies, putting it over the top. IGOR is Tyler, the Creator's fifth studio album, and the victory has to feel great, considering his last album Flower Boy debuted at a very close number two in 2017, only 1,000 units behind Lana Del Rey's Lust for Life. But if you're wondering how great Tyler, the Creator is feeling about this milestone, look no further than this captionless video he posted of himself to Twitter and Instagram with an actual stream of tears coming down his face.
IGOR earned 165,000 equivalent album units - selling 74,000 albums and gaining 122.9 million song streams - according to Nielsen. The second spot went to DJ Khaled's Father of Asahd, which sold 136,000 equivalent units, according to the reports.
Reacting to the news, Tyler tweeted, "IGOR, NUMBER UNO, STANK YOU."
Elsewhere on the chart, the National's new album I Am Easy To Find debuted this week at #5, right behind Billie Eilish's WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and Khalid's Free Spirit.
