New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It's been a year since JH released his last track 'Like That' ft Gemma-Louise, which was released on Link Up TV and went on to be remixed by DJ 'Blakk Habit'. More recently he's been filming a six part drama for the BBC and is gaining traction with his new single 'WHY'.
"Why is a shoulda, woulda, coulda track. Trying to get your bearings on a situation that you wish you could go back, change and do differently, but hindsight is a beautiful thing."
The UK Garage artist joins us to for a chat to tell us all about his music and filming projects.
"We shot the video to WHY over 2days. The first day we filmed all the interior shots. They took place in an apartment in Norwich. It was a really quirky modern apartment. You had to ask Alexa to turn the lights on. I don't think you can get more modern than that. On the second day we travelled back down to London to shoot all the outside shots. We went to the 02
Arena for the last part of the video and it was great to see all the city lit up".
"The new project is called 'Time', it's gonna be released towards the end of the year. I have another single coming out in
September before the EP is out. I've teamed up with a producer called Xcentrik. He's such a verstile producer and makes the sickest beats!!! We've created a drum and bass type track which is new to me. I've never created this genre before so it's something completely different, I hope people like the track."
"My new project is heavily influenced by Garage and also has some elements of UK Funky in it, I'm excited for people to hear it. I love old school music, so that's the kind I tend to make. I've always said I was born in the wrong era".
"I held off releasing the project as I didn't want to release it during the pandemic. It didn't feel like the right time".
"Alot of the festivals I was meant to be performing at this summer have been postponed till next year because of covid but if you keep a look out on my social media pages, I'll keep that updated on any up-and-coming events I have coming up.".
"I've been busy filming. I play a soldier in a new six-part drama for the BBC. That's coming out at Christmas time, so that's one to look out for".
Jamie is set to release a 9 track EP, entitled 'Time' in October and has new music and videos coming out over the next month, including an acoustic performance of his previous single 'Like That'.
"We've recorded an acoustic video of my track 'Like That', with the amazing Gemma-Louise on vocals and my brilliant guartarist friend Alfie. We've mixed it up a bit and added JoJos 'Leave' into it which goes really well with the chords. Keep your eyes peeled for that one".
