May 2 APEX Tour: Justin Martin / Catz n Dogz / Kill Frenzy / Harvard Bass / Curses / DKDS / Star Eyes / Tony Quattro
The APEX North American Tour comes to Verboten, aiming to reconnect to the roots of dance music by celebrating the art of DJing (read more at Billboard.com). As one of the founders of Dirtybird Records, Justin Martin has been an integral part of the electronic scene. From eleasing a number of bold records and throwing parties all over the world, to landing a spot on Pete Tong's BBC Essential Mix series as well as the front cover of DJ Magazine, Justin has made his mark on the dancefloor. Catz n Dogz are the fun-loving runners of label Pets Recordings, started in 2010. Last year saw the duo collaborating with KiNK on the 'Love EP' for Dirtybird as well as the free release of the 'Untitled' album under their Different Mark alias. Get ready for their bass-heavy, colorful, groove-laden DJ sets at Verboten. Kill Frenzy makes genre-bending club tunes that are spun from everyone from Soul Clap to Skrillex. Hailing from Belgium, the young DJ comes to Verboten to show off his chops behind the decks and his ability to bridge gaps between styles, cliques and crews around the world. Harvard Bass combines smooth, minimal beats and deep ghetto house grooves with corrosively addicting drum patterns. His track, "Techyes," is an unforgettable collaboration with the legendary Green Velvet that harkens back to the glory days of techno while more recent releases such as "Lazer Beams" (Relief Records), and "Plex" (Dubfire's Sci-Tec Digital Label) incorporate this influence with modern elements.

Trouble & Bass, lead by founder Curses, is a Brooklyn-based, cutting-edge bass focused record label and nightlife venture. They tout "Trouble & Bass is the sound of staying up all night and getting wild in the streets, sweat dripping off the walls and speakers pounding in your face." Come to a party and you just might agree.

May 3 Verboten: Ida Engberg [Extended Set] / Russ Yallop / Deepak Sharma // Bespoke: AFFKT / Pattern Drama / Kev O'Brien
Ida Engberg has carved herself a career as a DJ/Producer through relentless hard work and passion. Hailing from Sweden, she is a key member of the scene's ongoing techno talent roster. Ida's versatility is infectious, whether playing big room techno at Drumcode nights and festivals like Awakenings, The BPM Festival and Ultra Music Festival, or deep house at clubs and after hours all around the world. Verboten is happy to host Ida as she launches her 2014 residency this May.

May 7 PopGun presents: Adult. / Xeno & Oaklander / Stallone The Reducer
Hailing from Detroit, Adult. has put out a number of electrifying releases on the ever-adventurous Ghostly label, championing their influential electropunk sound. After taking the proper time to balance the visual and audible sides to their music, Adult. is ready to bring their intense live show on tour. Verboten is excited to put on its first concert with Adult., curated by Popgun, a Brooklyn independent concert and party promotions company.

May 8 Kimyon Huggins [Art Show, 7-11 pm]
Kimyon Huggins is a multimedia artist currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, where he focuses on painting, music producing, DJing, and short film. He has been involved in the music and art scene, especially underground techno and the urban contemporary movement since 1994. Curated by Ms. Duckworth and No Agenda NYC, come celebrate the installment of his 'Ladies Room Exhibit' on Thursday, May 8 from 7-11 pm as four Brooklyn artists take over Verboten for the debut of this monthly series featuring music by SHAKA23.

May 9 Tone of Arc (live) / Alex Niggeman / Greg Pidcock / Scarlett Etienne / John Dill
San Francisco-based producer Derrick Boyd aka Dead Seal, has joined forces with partner/vocalist Zoe Presnick to form Tone of Arc performing live. Tone of Arc brings a glimpse of real musicality to the underground tech house, punk house, and indie house scene, something rarely experienced on the dance floor. Having placed at some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, Tone of Arc released 3 EPs in 2012/2013 (with remixes by Deniz Kurtel, Luca C. and Prinz Thomas) leading up to their debut full length album 'The Time Was Right' on the ever expanding house record label No.19 Music.

May 10 Verboten: Agoria / Kindness / Pattern Drama // Push The Night: Ripperton / Lusine [live] / Nicole Ross
Building his skills as a DJ early on by organizing his own parties with friends, the French musician Agoria has sharpened his distinct deep, stripped-back, melodic, techno tracks over the years. Recently he remixed Moby's "Almost Home" showing off his talent of subliming the sensitivity in club music.

Kindness is the solo project of UK based artist Adam Bainbridge. His released his debut album World, You Need a Change of Mind in March of 2012. He has taken his live show to festivals all over the world like Primavera, Field Day, and The XX curated Day & Night festivals in London and Berlin.

May 16 Danny Howells
Danny Howells doesn't fit into the standard dance music paradigms. With a reputation as "the DJs' DJ", he has remained stoic in the face of ever-shifting trends and fads in dance music since he broke through into the global house music consciousness in the late-'90s. He doesn't churn out productions to "remain relevant", instead only releasing music as and when inspiration strikes. He's not a publicity hungry, social media devotee. He's not someone who feels the need to reinvent himself with new monikers or side projects, nor someone who aggressively pursues a maxxed-out DJ'ing schedule. Quietly plowing his way through the house music continuum, he has remained one of the world's most captivating selectors precisely because of these organic means. That and his impeccable selection, distinctive style and silky mixing, of course.

May 16 Wasabassco Burlesque Show: CIRCUS! [7pm-10pm]
Burlesque goes big when Doc Wasabassco and his pulchritudinous pals take control of the Verboten club for this monthly soiree. " - Time Out New York

Starring: Nasty Canasta, Evelyn Vinyl, Hazel Honeysuckle, Medianoche, Amber Ray, Mr. Gorgeous, Jason Mejias, Miss Orchid Mei, The Evil Hate Monkey and hosted by The Golden Glamazon herself, Sydni Deveraux.

May 17 Zeitgeist: Chromeo [DJ set] // Bespoke: Andhim / Bedouin [11pm]
Chromeo is the retro soul/funk dance project of Dave 1 (Atrak's brother) and P-Thugg, who, armed with an arsenal of vintage synths, has released a number of critically acclaimed albums. Their DJ sets are just as groove inducing as their own music, as they connect the dots of the encyclopedia like reference of classic dance and soul music, coming to Verboten after two sold out shows at Terminal 5.

Recently releasing Body Language Volume 14 on the highly regarded Get Physical compilation series, the self-described "Super House" duo Andhim have been honing their musical skills since their teenage years, drawing influence from a background in hip hop to create an energetic and soulful style of electronic dance music.

Bespoke Musik is a custom-built aesthetic applied to quality electronic music via premium events within New York. Another party that Verboten regularly partners with, they combine a podcast, a record label, and a booking agency.

May 22 House On Mute
House On Mute began its life as a quasi-religious organization (often falsely derided as a cult) in an unmarked Manhattan cellar. Down an elevator, then down a hallway, and finally past a guard, the lucky few found an altar of worship (a greasy stripper pole). It was in the so called "DJ booth" above that "stripper pole" where Cry Baby performed the first of many rituals that would mark her most recent time on our plane. Soon after, throngs of worshipers arrived, and kept arriving, until there wasn't room to house them any longer. Around this time, ordained euphorians Daniel Orestes and Adam Collins, and cosmic shaman Abraham Othwell took time off from astrally projecting themselves to other universes in need and focused their immediate and unconscious energies on providing disgusting basslines for the sea of newly initiated followers. A dark union was forged and it's been a bumping ride since.

May 23 Susanne Bartsch presents KUNST!
NYMag.com 'A Nightlife Legend Brings Her Scene to Brooklyn' - Photos
