New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The singer-songwriter sensation renforshort releases her brand new single "fuck, i luv my friends" via Interscope Records/Universal Music. The song is accompanied by the lyric video, out today at 12pm EST, which was illustrated by Aaron Pena, and animated by Interscope's own Kenny Okagaki, the video lends itself to the mood and feeling of longing for friends brought forth in the song.

The track - written by renforshort, Jeff Hazin, Geoff Warburton, David Charles Fischer and Jared Scharff, and produced by Jeff Hazin & Pearl Lion - features ren's edgy tone and her signature brand of deeply reflective, yet undeniably relatable, alt-pop. It's the first taste of new music from the rising star, who has used her time in quarantine to write and record several new songs, expected to drop throughout the year, as she continues to polish her ever-evolving sound.

"I chose to give the song this name because I think it's a common sentiment especially during these times when it's harder to see your friends," states renforshort. "It's also a transitional time in my life where high school has just ended and all my friends are leaving to university and I want us to have this song to share about learning, living, and growing up together!"

The release follows her collaboration with Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, who remixed her song "i drive me mad," released on June 26, 2020. The original track was off renforshort's genre-spanning debut EP teenage angst, released earlier this year via Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company. The EP was praised by TIME Magazine as, "intimate, catchy bedroom pop with a punk edge," and NYLON proclaimed, "it hits how it sounds: seven potent tracks distilling adolescent turmoil into pop anthems with a gritty punk edge."
