New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Since stepping into the spotlight via placing in the top 10 finalist of the 2020 JCDC festival song competition alongside Grammy luminaries Buju Banton and Toots & The Maytals, Radix O.D has been busy in the studio crafting new music to add to his growing discography.
With some buzz worthy singles slated for summer 2021 releases, the first of such release since his hit ode to Jamaica "The Place to Be", is an upbeat dancehall track produced by Javi Music titled "Money Psalms."

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, the singjay explained "Basically, the need , the want for money, not just for myself, but for other people. You realize that a prayer start up, or a Psalm start off where mi a mek it be known my intentions, when mi get my money. But I also incorporate what other people do for money, some go hustle, some go sell out themselves, so its basically the never ending chase for money. All when you feel like yuh have enough money, you still always want more money." - Radix O.D

Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the King Street community of Montego Bay, Odonald Christopher Haughton knew from a young age that he was destined for greater things. He did not let his geographical birth determine his future and as many other true artists, he was born with music in his veins and a song on his lips. Known in the music world by the stage name of Radix O.D, "Radix means the source of something, so for me it represents a balance of mind, body and spirit to get the best out of life, it is the origin of my music", explained the singer-songwriter. O.D

Honing his craft by becoming a prolific writer, in 2016 Radix O.D recorded his first song titled "One Chance" under the moniker "O.D.", the latter received positive feedback which in turns resulted into ghostwriting for various established artists. Trodding on his musical journey, the versatile Radix released a few more singles, and armed with confidence, he took to the stage. "In 2018 I was one of the winners of the Redstripe "Big Buss" Competition where I got the opportunity to perform on the Sumfest main stage that year. Towards the ending of 2019 I changed my name from O.D. to Radix OD because of a shift in mentality with the content of music as I look to effect a more positive change." - Radix O.D

Creating a buzz with his name, music, and charismatic showmanship, he took yet another step to stardom by entering the 2020 JCDC festival song competition with a song who he said was gifted to him in a dream to aid in fulfilling that purpose. Once again the opportunity paid off, as O.D placed in the top 10 finalist with his ode to Jamaica "The Place to Be", alongside GRAMMY luminaries Buju Banton and Toots Hibbert among others.
"Many people live their lives not knowing what their purpose is, but I know music is mine." - Radix O.D
