New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Island Records/Wall Recordings Grammy Award-winning producer and DJ artist
Afrojack will release his new single worldwide on October 11th, " The
Spark " featuring Spree Wilson. The track will hit radio, and the video will premiere on VEVO/YouTube, simultaneously going up for sale at iTunes, all on October 11th.
"
The Spark" showcases a different side to
Afrojack , and gives a taste of what to expect from his forthcoming major label debut album - a blaze of infectious beats, larger than life production, killer pop hooks and euphoric melodies, a complete sonic assault on the senses.
Afrojack was signed to Island Records worldwide earlier this year, as the label took over promotion and sales in the U.S. for " As Your Friend " featuring Chris Brown,
Afrojack 's [then] new single on his self-owned label, Wall Recordings.
Afrojack , born Nick van de Wall in the Netherlands, became one of EDM's major figures starting in 2010, quickly making a name for himself with a slew of hard-hitting underground releases. He exploded that year with " Take Over Control " with fellow Dutch artist Eva Simons, a Top 40 hit around the world that helped solidify his own imprint, Wall Recordings as a pioneering club music brand, a value he holds dear as label boss.
Afrojack shared his first Grammy Award® (with
David Guetta) for Madonna's "Revolver (David Guetta's One Love Club Remix)," voted Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
Afrojack has also received Grammy Award® nominations for his work on Chris Brown's "
Look At Me Now" and
Leona Lewis' "Collide."
In addition to recording club hits and collaborations with such names as
David Guetta (co-writing and producing the world-wide smash "
Titanium"),
Afrojack has also teamed up with some of the biggest pop artists around the world. He co-wrote and produced "
Give Me Everything" for
Pitbull and Ne-Yo, which has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and was named the #7 biggest-selling digital single of 2011.
Afrojack 's catalog of more than 80 original productions and remixes since 2006 includes will.i.am's "This is Love" featuring Eva Simons, a worldwide #1 hit; Michael Jackson's "BAD," in addition to co-writing and co-producing Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)."
Voted one of the world's top ten DJ's in the UK's influential DJ Mag Top 100 list,
Afrojack also placed seventh in Forbes magazine's 2013 list of "World's Highest Paid DJs." In the colorful extended-length cover story of the new [October] issue of DJ Mag, entitled "The Phenomenal Rise Of Afrojack," he told writer Ian Roullier, "I feel that I'm just on the same journey as EDM. I was there at the right time in
America to see it all happen and grow with it. I was one of the first DJs that ever got booked in
Vegas and to see it grow so exponentially, it's just beautiful to be part of it. The only role I see for myself is being one of the few guys who really does not give a crap about genre or style and just [cares] about the music."
