New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Alexis Keegan continues her successful solo career by returning to her roots and bringing out a gospel inspired R&B-pop classic. 'Gospel' released October 5th is high energy, soulful, and packed full of attitude. Starting with a percussion based introduction, the song soon develops into a dynamic R&B-pop fusion track with a gutsy vocal line and strong backing vocals and harmonies. Alexis' vocals dominate the track and yet they are not overpowering, her voice is commanding and powerful - and yet never overwhelming.
Growing up in Maplewood New Jersey, it wasn't long before Alexis Keegan's deep and expressive R&B vocals were discovered and honed. At age 12 her Father's Cancer diagnosis inspired her to record Mariah Carey's 'Butterfly' as a tribute, and it was after this extremely sad period that she decided to dedicate her life to bringing people joy through music. She joined her school's Gospel choir and, despite having never sung in an ensemble before, was quickly chosen as their lead vocalist.
Since her high school days she has continued to develop her sound both as a recording artist and as a solo performer, and she is now gearing up for the release of her brand new single 'Gospel'.
Alexis has two successful E.P's to her name, as well as experience working with Jay-Z's
Nephew and his crew. She is now ready to focus on developing as a solo artist with the release of her new single. Supported by MAC cosmetics on the both the stage and the road, Alexis Keegan will be bringing her soulful sounds to the UK!
