Alina Baraz Announces Debut Album "It Was Divine"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Alina Baraz has been tirelessly pouring her heart and soul into her music and live shows for a few years now, all culminating into this exciting moment - the announcement of her debut album coming this spring on Mom + Pop ! On May 5th, Baraz will unveil her most illustrious body of work yet with the release of It Was Divine. The 16-track studio album showcases the classic chanteuse at the height of embracing her femininity - strong, secure, confident and hopelessly optimistic of the road to love ahead. In anticipation of this new chapter, Baraz shares new single "Morocco" featuring 6LACK ahead of album release, blending her velvety romantic musings over an upbeat melody enhanced with a lover's response and affirmation.

Baraz began alluding to new music last fall with the release of "To Me", a self-reflecting birthday gift to herself, representing her new beginnings - a positive and uplifting song about letting go, healing and moving on. In early 2020, Baraz released "Trust", another standout single reflecting on love and loss featuring Baraz's signature silky vocals effortlessly laid upon pop-R&B production, catapulting the star to land on the cover of Apple's New Music Daily playlist, 25 NMF playlists on Spotify, the cover of Amazon's "The High End" playlist and more.

It Was Divine, while really marking the beginning for Baraz, represents the final chapter of her daydreams about young love and sadness over loss. A self-confessed hopeless romantic, much of Baraz's repertoire focuses on recovering from heartbreak and the hope to falling deeply again, in the kind of love that comes from movies and fairytales. Here we see Baraz matured and wiser, a perspective that truly can only come with experience. Baraz eloquently states,"This album gravitates around love and self. Losing it then finding it. A stream of thought, a shift in my perspective. It's learning how to take care of myself. Nourishing what's real. Learning how to let go. Learning how to let love in."

In 2015, Baraz released Urban Flora, an EP that put her on the map in an unprecedented way. The project went on to sell over 100k units and stayed in the Top 10 on iTunes electronic charts for over 150 weeks ! In 2018, Baraz went on to release her follow-up project and Mom + Pop debut, The Color of You, featuring hit single "Electric" featuring Khalid. Baraz debuted her enhanced live show at Coachella and went on to join Coldplay on the North American leg of their Head Full of Dreams stadium tour.. To date, Baraz has amassed over 2.19B streams across the world - a benchmark accomplishment for an artist who has quietly become one of the most standout voices of a generation.
