Alonestar Feat Ed Sheeran 'Real Life'
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Vision Music Promo) "This is a real life, and it'll only get harder". Words that will resonate with anyone feeling the bite of tough times, but for Jethro Sheeran, a.k.a Alonestar, the struggle runs deeper. He has spent the last four years re-evaluating his life, having lost contact with his daughter in 2007, when she was taken to Trinidad without his consent.

"Sounds great- I want to hear more" - Nellee Hooper - producer U2/Madonna
"A great writer and powerful lyricist" - Portishead

Battling to make sense of his world in the ensuing years, he turned to music as a source of comfort, laying down a heart-rending series of tracks, in which soul-searching rhymes and propulsive beats swarm round vocal melodies that are as haunting as they are sweet.

He has emerged from the process, if not fully healed, at least a little surer of his own talent, having seen it provide inspiration to countless others. 2011 was an extraordinary year, in which he performed live in front of over three million viewers (as part of TV2's fight night in Denmark), signed a publishing deal with EMI, and released a 6-track EP (Warrior), in which he collaborated with Ja Ja Soze, Rosie Ribbons, and his cousin Ed Sheeran. Returning the complement, Ed featured a portion of Alonestar's song 'Shottas Paradise' on his recent single 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'.

With two Exposure Music Awards to his name (Best Male Artist and Best Urban Song), Jethro's star is on the rise, and Reel Me Records are delighted to be putting out his latest release 'Real Life', a characteristically gritty track that perfectly showcases his distinctive blend of hip-hop and urban pop. From the music alone it's easy to see why he has been making such waves, but he is also a consummate showman, and has delighted audiences in the UK, Morocco, Spain and Trinidad, with a live show that Dean Hill of the Exposure Music Awards has described as "mind-blowing". Whether on record or on tour, Alonestar seems destined to change lives.
Bristol has always been a hub of talent when it comes to music and its about time that Bristol also cam up with with a suitable label to house such talent, this is where Reel Me Records steps in perfectly.

Reel Me Records is a digital singer songwriter label with influences ranging from folk and funk to neo soul and hip hop. They are driven by the search for new music and want to discover the undiscovered, the amazing talent that is out there and give it the platform it deserves. With acts like Miri, Laid Blak, Alonestar and more, they are succeeding with that aim. Long may it continue !
