New York, NY (Top40 Charts) After weeks of teasing the track to her fans on social media, Ariana Grande released the song on Friday, along with its official music video.
Over a sample of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, Grande flexes about her bank account, black card, and big closet. "Been through some bad shit / I should be a sad bitch," she sings with the swagger of a rapper. "Who woulda thought it'd turn me to a savage / Rather be tied up with calls and not strings / Write my own checks like I write what I sing."

The independent anthem, recorded following her breakup with Pete Davidson, was inspired by Grande's trip to Tiffany & Co. with her girlfriends, including Victoria Monét and Tayla Parx. "Me and my friends went to Tiffany's together, just because we needed some retail therapy," she told Billboard. "You know how when you're waiting at Tiffany's they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring."

In the Hannah Lux Davis-directed video, Grande throws an epic house party with her closest girlfriends. While basking under pink lights, she stunts on the kitchen counter, pops champagne, plays video games, and whips her ponytail back and forth. "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it," sings a confident Grande.

"7 Rings" follows "Imagine" and "Thank U, Next" off Grande's upcoming album Thank U, Next, the follow-up to August's Sweetener. "This [album's] not particularly uplifting," she said. "A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it's actually a super sad chapter."

In April, Grande will headline Coachella. The 25-year-old is the youngest artist to ever headline the festival and the fourth woman following Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Björk.
