Berlin-Based Pianist And Composer Alice Baldwin's "Was Am Ende" Released Today
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Introducing Deutsche Grammophon's new project 12 - a 12-track, multi-artist collection from today's innovative and creative musicians.
The brand-new tracks will be released one per month throughout 2019 and have been specially chosen both to represent different contemporary classical genres and to suit the mood of the season.

For the month of February, 12 continues with "Was Am Ende" by Berlin-based pianist and composer Alice Baldwin. Written for piano and strings, "Was Am Ende" is dedicated to Baldwin's dear friend and serves as a reminder of what remains after the occurrence of tragic moments in life. It is intended as a process of accepting change as it comes, and the realization that one will find beauty and light even in the darkest moments. Emotionally moving and powerful - a fitting piece for the cloudy days of February. Listen to "Was Am Ende" below:

Alice Baldwin is a pianist and self-taught composer, photographer and videographer, currently living in Berlin, Germany. She first touched a piano at the age of five and neglected to do her piano lesson homework for the following twelve years. She soon found that creating music helps to cope with challenging situations in life and started to weave musical pieces inspired by personal experiences. Her instrumental works are primarily for solo piano, sometimes accompanied by synth or strings. As an advocate of radical softness, she supports the idea that "unapologetically sharing your emotions is a political move and a way to combat the societal idea that feelings are a sign of weakness" - Lora Mathis
