Atlanta, GA (Top40 Charts/ Lotus Records) - Boston Music: The album review that follows has been written by Ashley Lewis, a freelance writer attending the Mass College of Liberal Arts with a concentration in Broadcast Media and Writing. She checked out the entire disc and shared it with her friends. Lotus Records and Cheryl Reid presents Carmen Liana and her Billboard charting album "Who I AM".

The "Who I Am" album review
by Ashley Lewis

After having a good long listen of Carmen Liana's debut album, "Who I Am," I am pleasantly surprised!! The music has a gentile and smooth groove to all the tracks, Carmen's voice is soulful, and reminds me what is missing from R&B these days.

I enjoyed listening to the album and would highly recommend it to music junkies who favor artists such a Corinne Bailey Rae. While all of the beats are catchy and smooth the lyrics seem to be lacking throughout the album, on more than one occasion songs song familiar in a bad way.

After listening to Carmen, Ashley G. of Wesleyan University said, "I like the concept, but it sounds like something I've heard before, meaning I would not remember it easily." Having listened to many artists hailing from independent labels such as Liana's Lotus Records, I have found music produced from smaller labels to be poor quality but Carmen is in good hands and her album "Who I Am" is definitely on my list of albums to buy!"

"I like the style and rhythm, but it's a little too slow pace for me," said Karen Green of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. "Honestly, I think Carmen's jazz/R&B inspired music is better marketed to a more adult audience rather than college age people who seem to only like to listen to Lil Wayne and 3OH!3."
