Chance The Rapper, Paramore, Sturgill Simpson And More Announced For The Inaugural Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Hawk Eye Presents, LLC announces its full artist lineup for the first annual Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival {pronounced ka-roon-din-ha} to take place on Friday, July 21, Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, 2017, with a kick-off party on Thursday, July 20th at Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park, America's only all-water cavern and wildlife park in Centre Hall, PA. Set on 1,600 unspoiled acres of rolling hills and rich farmland, the festival site, the largest in the northeast, boasts acres of sunflowers, world-class trout fishing, off-road tours, native North American wildlife, including mountain lions, wolves, bison, bears, longhorn cattle, bighorn sheep and more.

Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of urban America, festival-goers will enjoy an incomparable experience where they can take part in various amenities, including daily yoga sessions, dance workshops, art installations, gourmet food vendors, multiple levels of camping options and all-water tour caves.

The Seneca Tribe aptly dubbed this land, Karoondinha, meaning The Land of Shining Waters. The three-day, multi-stage, camping festival will highlight over 80 artists, including Chance the Rapper, Odesza, John Legend, Paramore, Sturgill Simpson, The Roots, Porter Robinson, Dillon Francis, Young the Giant, Chromeo, Alessia Cara, Leon Bridges, X Ambassadors, The Revivalists, Daya, Maren Morris, Needtobreathe, MisterWives, Jon Bellion, AlunaGeorge, Marian Hill, Broods, DNCE, St. Lucia, Coin, PVRIS, Grace VanderWaal, and Jacob Collier. The full Karoondinha artist lineup is below.

Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival was conceived by young entrepreneurs and brother-sister duo, Kaleena and Paul Rallis, who grew up in Central Pennsylvania working at their family's business, Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park. With a musical background and working in the entertainment industry for the past decade, the Rallis siblings want to bring their passion for music and the arts back home to create a major destination event, which the region lacked. Karoondinha is set to take the festival experience to an elevated level of uniqueness and quality. "We have assembled a team of experienced 'festival' professionals to help bring our vision to life," said Kaleena and Paul Rallis. They continued, "Collectively, the team of 60+ full-time and hundreds more part-time has worked on some of the most successful and well-established music festivals in the country. They are all extremely dedicated to Karoondinha and are working together seamlessly to take the necessary steps to ensure every aspect, including logistics, staging, production, security, medical, traffic, guest services, food and beverage, are handled in the best ways possible."

Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival has partnered with the following local non-profit organizations:

Wildlife for Everyone Foundation
www.wildlifeforeveryone.org
Wildlife for Everyone Foundation celebrates the rich heritage of Pennsylvania wildlife as their funding aids wildlife habitats, scientific wildlife research and education, youth education and land preservation.

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank distributes more than 48 million pounds of food and grocery products, equivalent to more than 40 million meals, every year to more than 900 soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries in 27 central Pennsylvania counties. The agencies directly feed thousands of hungry families throughout Central Pennsylvania.

We both have always been entrepreneurs and are extremely passionate about music, visual arts, food, nature, and travel. Combining all of this with the backdrop of the property we grew up on, we knew that creating this Festival was something we just had to do. While we've mostly lived between Los Angeles & New York City for our adulthood, it was important for us to shine a light on Central Pennsylvania. We hope that the experience being creating will spark joy, excitement and bring happiness in all those who attend.

Karoondinha is pronounced ka-roon-din-ha with an accent on roon, which rhymes with moon. The word Karoondinha, comes from the Seneca Tribe, is the original name of the creek that generates from Penn's Cave, and also translates as The Land of Shining Waters.

We spent the better part of last year going to major music festivals including Austin City Limits, Coachella, Governor's Ball and Firefly. We took some form of inspiration from each one we attended and considered which aspects we could incorporate into and evolve with our Festival. We designed Karoondinha to connect people: to the landscape, to each other, and to music. Since we (and many others on our team) are part of the 18-35 age group, we sought to create something that keeps our peers in mind but also makes everyone feel welcome. We envision an experiential, destination event that goes far beyond an incredible artist lineup.

Any age! We curated a lineup filled with amazingly talented singers, songwriters, and musicians. Everyone from our younger cousin to our grandmother will easily find someone they are excited to see at Karoondinha. We've also designed the experience in such a way that everyone can enjoy it and create their own annual traditions here.

A Festival situated on an idyllic farm featuring an all-water cave and wildlife park is a totally new experience for festival-goers. Karoondinha offers a real escape from the hustle and bustle of city living. Unlike many other Festivals that take place near urban areas, Karoondinha is truly an immersive experience out in nature. Though it's an easy half-day journey from every major city in the Northeast, Karoondinha is secluded, peaceful and will leave you feeling bright and renewed.

Aside from there being a void in our region for a major-market destination camping festival, Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park has been cared for by our family for five generations. We spent our teenage years here and have so many great memories working in the business and enjoying all the things that make the property so remarkable. We want more people to be able to discover this place, while at same time ensuring it's preserved in the best way for many generations to come.

Central Pennsylvania is the perfect combination of scenic beauty, fascinating history, and down-to-earth genuine people. The region's landscape allows for countless adventures and transformational experiences. Summer in Central Pennsylvania is especially lush and green.

Well… it was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears! Booking a first-year festival is not an easy task. We spent several countless hours along with our talent buyer custom-curating every part of the lineup. From the start, we were passionate about making the lineup unique and appealing, giving festival-goers the opportunity to see acts that they otherwise may not see at other festivals this year.

We plan for Karoondinha to be an annual event, adding something new and unique each year, growing in size, but never so big that it becomes uncomfortable for festival-goers and the local community. We want everyone to have an amazing experience and leave with lifelong memories with the desire to return the following year.

We believe in giving back and consider this Festival as a way to be a positive force in our community and beyond. Through our official and unofficial partnerships, we are supporting nature and wildlife conservation, the fight against hunger and serious illnesses, and music education. Our nonprofit partners include The Bestwick Foundation (www.bestwickfoundation.org), Wildlife for Everyone Foundation (www.wildlifeforeveryone.org), and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (www.centralpafoodbank.org).

Festival-goers may come from all over the country, but the goal is to make Karoondinha something the local community can feel proud of, benefit from, and call their own. We are very thankful that we have this opportunity to contribute something to the region where we grew up and love so much. Karoondinha is as much about place as it is music. We hope that throughout the rest of the year, more people will visit Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park as well as the entire region, for all the other reasons that make it so special.

Creating something that really benefits everyone is ultimately how we decide if any pursuit is worthwhile. To design an experience that is enjoyed by festival-goers is only part of the larger goal, which is to positively contribute to the region, continue to preserve the venue and find additional ways that more people can enjoy it.

Almost two years ago, we started to take the steps to make this festival a reality, though we can't really pinpoint the exact moment the idea came about! The Festival is like a best friend: We can't remember meeting, but we feel that it has been a part of our lives from the start.

For the last ten years, I [Kaleena] have worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and New York City, first in casting and now as a talent manager with my own company. I [Paul] have worked in architecture and design for over a decade in Los Angeles and have more recently been developing several hospitality-related projects, of which this Festival is a natural extension of. The intersection of both our skill sets, the relationships we have developed through our work, and our drive and dedication to execute any project in the best way possible has aided in Karoondinha coming together so well.

Our family is extraordinary and have supported us and the idea of Karoondinha from its inception. We are so thankful for our family and larger community and the many ways they're involved in the Festival. Our late father's family, our mother's family, and our step-family have come together to help make this idea a reality.

Some brothers and sisters may not take on an idea of this magnitude. What do you think it is about your relationship?

We've always gotten along and worked together very well, and started our first business together at age 5 and 7. Our relationship is centered around teamwork, mutual respect, and trust. We also have a great confidence in each other and value our similarities and differences. With the combination of our skill sets, and our ability to assemble the very best team of professionals to help us with every aspect, we have been able to create this Festival which, even in the first year, is comparable to some of the most established music festivals in the country.
