NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Jive Records) - R&B singer/songwriter and legendary front-man of the Gap Band Charlie Wilson continues to dominate the Urban Adult Contemporary chart with his popular new hit song "There Goes My Baby." The song currently ranks No. 1 for the fourth week in a row. " There Goes My Baby" is the lead single from Wilson's sophomore Jive Records album, Uncle Charlie, which recently debuted at No. 1 on the R&B Album Chart and No. 2 on the Pop Albums chart. The album was Wilson's highest debut and is now in the Top 5 on the R&B Albums chart. "There Goes My Baby," written by multiple Grammy winner Babyface and Calvin Richardson, describes a man who falls in love with a woman at first sight. "When they presented me with this song, I knew it was a winner," says Wilson. The video clip is in Power Rotation on both BET J and VH1 Soul and recently added to Music Choice. Wilson's next single "Can't Live Without You" is produced by the Grammy-nominated duo the Underdogs. The mid-tempo groove will hit radio in May. The current album also features all-star collaborations with Snoop Dogg and T-Pain. The album title, Uncle Charlie refers to Wilson's status as the "de facto father of new jack swing" and his influence over some of today's top musicians and singers. Wilson is considered one of the greatest and most distinctive voices in R&B. Classic hit singles such as "Outstanding" and "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" are among the most sampled tunes by contemporary Rap and R&B artists. Charlie Wilson, a prostate cancer survivor, is a spokesman for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and is assisting them in raising much needed funds to continue their research.
