MONTREAL, CANADA While Jason Derulo's sophomore album
Future History hits stores
September 27th, his hit single 'It Girl' premiered this week on iTunes and is climbing the charts each and every day. As of today, it's already reached number nineteen (19) on iTunes. As viewers of the music video will see, premiering August 15th, the new Paper Jamz Pro Series Microphone from WowWee is featured numerous times throughout the video as Derulo is performing.
'For the video, I wanted it to be an open book,' Derulo told MTV News on the set of the video. 'I wanted it to be almost like a photo album, so every single scene is kind of like a picture that you're kind of looking into our relationship. So it is a 1920s vibe, it's black and white, very high fashion - you know, you'll see me very dapper in 1920s, Frank Sinatra-ish.'
The Paper Jamz Pro Series Microphone lets anyone sound like a star. Featuring voice effects including Chorus, Auto Harmony and Auto vibrato, the new Pro Series automatically corrects the singers voice via new Perfect Pitch technology. The Paper Jamz Pro Series microphone is available now for a suggested retail price of $29.99 at all major retailers.
'Last year Paper Jamz gave everyone the ability to rock out like a star. This year, the Pro Series Microphone lets everyone sing like one too! It's much more than just a line extension for the Paper Jamz brand,' said Marc Rosenberg, Spokesperson for WowWee. 'WowWee is known for combining innovative technology with incredible play value at a great price and trust me when I say the Pro Series Microphone won't disappoint.'
As the flagship artist for the joint venture between Warner Bros. Records and super-producer J.R. Rotem's label Beluga Heights, Miami-born Jason Derulo ruled the airwaves last year with his three smash hit singles, 'Whatcha Say,' 'In My Head,' and 'Ridin' Solo,' off his self-titled debut album, Jason Derulo, which debuted at No. 4 on the Digital Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. With the 3x-platinum debut single "Whatcha Say" (an irresistible slice of finger-snapping, futuristic pop-R&B that spent four consecutive weeks atop the Pop chart), and the 2x-platinum second single 'In My Head,' the 21-year-old singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor became the first male solo artist to score consecutive No. 1's on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart in the chart's 17-year-history with his first two entries. Derulo's third single, 'Ridin' Solo,' was also certified 2x-platinum in the U.S. Derulo has sold more than 13 million singles and 850,000 albums worldwide.
In January 2010, Derulo wrapped a six-week stint on the road with Lady Gaga on her red-hot, sold-out 'Monster Ball' tour of North America. In February, he made his feature film debut in MTV Films' Turn the Beat Around. He has performed on American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, Live with Regis & Kelly, Lopez Tonight, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, while his videos have racked up more than 300 million collective views on YouTube. In August, Derulo won a 2010 Teen Choice Award for 'Choice Music: Album, R&B.' He has also been nominated for a 2011 NAACP Image Award, an American Music Award, an ARIA and MOBO Award, two 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and a Much Music Award. After touring with Black Eyed Peas in Canada in July, Derulo hit the road for a headlining world tour last fall.
