While participating at the Billboard Latin Music Conference's special digital panel discussing the role of the artist in social networks and music marketing, the artist was surprised by Universal Music executives with two plaques celebrating his online and digital successes. The first commemorated more than 125 million views on VEVO.com for his international mega-hit "Danza Kuduro", a video that has become the most viewed Latin video in the history of VEVO, the internet's online music video destination. The second plaque recognized more that 1.5 million digital and mobile downloads worldwide for tracks from his album Don Omar Presents "Meet The Orphans," which includes the hits "Danza Kuduro," "Hasta Abajo,"and the most recent, "Taboo". "Taboo" has become an international sensation, with a music video that has accumulated more than 4 million views on YouTube and VEVO in a just five days. The single is Top 10 on iTunes and Top 10 on the VEVO general charts. Its video features footage from "Fast Five," the fifth installment of the Universal Pictures blockbuster "The Fast and The Furious," where Don Omar stars alongside actors Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and others. This year, Don Omar will continue his high-profile career with a performance at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be telecast live via Telemundo on Thursday, April 28, 2011.
