MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (Top40 Charts/ SGC Media) In the competition for music's fastest rise in 2012, The Griswolds would have to be a very strong contender. Forming in February this year, the band were hand-picked by organizers of the Australian indie-dance festival Parklife to open the proceedings, triple j Unearthed feature artist, picked up by over 100 blogs around the globe and supported the likes of Australian break-out artists Last Dinosaurs and San Cisco, simply by posting their first track 'Mississippi' online.
In June, they followed up the global hit with second single 'Heart Of A Lion', an infectious punch of party-pop that was immediately added to high rotation on triple j, and stayed in triple j's Top 20 Most Played Song Chart for eight weeks in a row. Again the international airwaves were quick to take notice, with the single attracting airplay in over 20 countries worldwide, and coming in at #12 on the We are Hunted Charts.
The band celebrates their first year with the release of their third single, "The Courtship of Summer Preasley" while the rest of us are left to wonder...where will the meteroic rise of The Griswolds take them in 2013?
