New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Chuck Brown, 'godfather of the go go sound' (USA Today), will release a 3-disc set September 21 on Raw Venture, featuring a live album, a live DVD and a disc of 5 new songs that feature collaborations with Jill Scott, Ledisi and Marcus Miller. The 73-year-old guitarist, vocalist, bandleader, and Washington, DC institution is the creator of a genre that Rolling Stone calls "so intergalactically funky, and so majestically joyful, it would convince just about any groovy extraterrestrial that humans are indeed a superior species." The live album/DVD was recorded at Washington, DC's legendary 9:30 Club, while the studio tracks were produced by Chucky Thompson.

The 3-disc set follows the 2007 release of Brown's critically acclaimed studio album 'We're About The Business,' which gave the Go-Go legend his highest chart and sales debuts to date. Rolling Stone called the album 'warm, party-hearty stuff,' while Vibe called Brown 'a soulful ax-man with a wicked sense of humor.' In a live review of a show celebrating the records release, the New York Times declared Brown 'is claiming his title as the godfather of go-go.'

'We Got This' finds Brown still at the peak of his powers. The studio material rolls and grooves from the Ledisi assisted 'Funky Stuff' to the horn drenched 'LOVE,' which features Scott and Miller. The live CD/DVD document Brown and his band's epic, nonstop, marathon live shows, working their way from Duke Ellington's 'It Don't Mean A Thing' to KRS One's 'Rappaz R. N. Dainja' to Brown's seminal 1979 hit 'Bustin' Loose.'
