New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Starting today, eleven new tracks are joining Amazon Acoustics-the original playlist featuring newly-written and recorded songs from artists like acclaimed singer-songwriters,
Jason Isbell and
Amanda Shires, rockers
O.A.R. and indie band, Rogue Wave, available exclusively streaming through Prime Music. To listen visit www.amazon.com/acoustics.
The
Color of a Cloudy Day represents a rare songwriting collaboration between the Alabama-bred Isbell and Shires, and premiered yesterday via the Wall Street Journal Speakeasy. Usually we only help each other edit songs that we write individually. This song deals with crime and punishment. The protagonist isn't exactly innocent, but he isn't guilty of the crime for which he's being punished," explained Isbell, who was nominated for two 2015 GRAMMY Awards, including Best Americana Album. Something More Than Free, Isbells fifth album, was released July 17, 2015 and went #1 on Billboards Rock, Country and Folk charts.

Varying in both tone and instrumentation, the version of Rogue Waves What Is Left to Solve on the playlist is an acoustic arrangement of a song from their current release, Delusions of Grand Fur. "We chose to approach What is Left to Solve in a new way because the album version is so mechanical and relentless. After all, the song was written on an acoustic guitar, so why not bring it back to its original state? Instead of hearing a synthesizer and drum machine remind you of the futility of trying to change someone else's mind, we thought it better to try it with all the menace an acoustic guitar and soft percussion can provide. Cynics, rejoice, stated Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave.
O.A.R. front man, Marc Roberge, is back for another single on Amazon Acoustics, this time with his band, contributing an alternative version of their current single I Go Through from their album, XX; a career-spanning anthology featuring two new songs.
When we were coming up with the idea for the album, I looked at my kids and I realized I have one responsibility in the world to them... to move forward. Be an example to them. The songs about not standing still, especially now in the climate we're in, said Roberge.
Other new tracks include a range of artists like The Kin, Switchfoot, Seratones and Parachute.
