Miami, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Kaplan University) - Five-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist and concert performer John Legend will celebrate the academic achievements of hundreds of online graduates from the Kaplan University Winter class of 2009, and share his insights about one of the five cornerstones essential to men and women - education.

WHAT: On the heels of the launch of Kaplan University's new 'Talent Campaign,' Legend will help drive home the University's mission to help students unlock their untapped talent with an education that prepares them for today's competitive job market. He will share details of his personal journey and explain the role education played in helping him build the confidence and skills he needed to unlock his own talent and make his dreams a reality. Legend, who earned his bachelor's degree in English and graduated with honors at age 20, believes that education helps build a foundation that makes dreams come to life for anyone, at any age and from all walks of life - just like Kaplan University .

WHY: Legend passionately advocates continuing education as a way to help increase one's individual capacity, that of the nation and society as a whole. And he's not alone. According to a recent survey conducted by Kaplan University, 71 percent of U.S. adults believe that the nation can improve its economic standing if more people earn college degrees. Kaplan University is making higher education more accessible to more Americans to help them achieve their academic goals, increase their earning potential and advance in careers.

WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 31
