Keith Stanfield Of FX's Atlanta Remixes ALA.NI's "Cherry Blossom"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On May 12, the British-born, Paris-based artist ALA.NI will release her debut album You & I through Missing Piece Records distributed via Caroline. With all songs written & produced by ALA.NI, the album was recorded in London at Owl Studios (owned by Sade's Andrew Hale) and Studio 13 (owned by Damon Albarn).

ALA.NI just released the Moors remix of "Cherry Blossom." Moors is the production duo of Keith Stanfield and Hrishikesh Hirway; Stanfield is known for his acting roles in Atlanta (Darius), Straight Outta Compton (Snoop Dogg), and Get Out (Andrew Logan King). Hirway is known as the host of the Song Exploder podcast.

Pigeons and Planes premiered the remix saying "Stanfield raps on this remix, his mellow bars working well to partner the song's original warm vocals."

The original version of "Cherry Blossom" premiered via The Fader, who called it "a majestic ode to the first stages of love... ALA.NI's classic and jazzy voice saunters across the alluring instrumental as she woos the special someone who she longs to be with." LADYGUNN premiered the "Cherry Blossom" video, saying "This video establishes Alani as an ethereal visionary. Alani's angelic face partnered with her haunting vocals will leave you spellbound."

Interview Magazine recently published a photoshoot and feature interview with ALA.NI alongside the premiere of the video for "Darkness At Noon," the second single to be released from the forthcoming album. Haley Weiss of Interview called You & I "...a testament to her vocal talent and willingness to plunge into her emotions, be they joyous, sorrowful, or considered."

Earlier this year, ALA.NI made her first-ever trip to the United States to perform songs from this album for NPR Music's Night Owl series, Paste Magazine and WNYC's Soundcheck.

ALA.NI stopped many people dead in their tracks when she appeared on Later...with Jools Holland, performing "Cherry Blossom" with a Disney-gone-noir vocal, as compulsively anachronistic as the sensibility of the track itself. ALA.NI arrived with a voice that seems to take in the cadences of musical history, and an idiosyncratic creative approach to conveying her music, including spooky, self-produced Super 8 videos, 19th century photo techniques for album packaging and release formats that include wax cylinder recordings and even a miniature music box. Her vocal stylings have been compared to Billie Holiday, Minnie Ripperton, Lena Horne, Judy Garland or Julee Cruise, but this is no nostalgia trip and to make these simple comparisons would be, as Glamour noted "a disservice because the thing about this West London-born singer is that she is totally unique."

You & I is now available for pre-order and includes instant downloads of "Cherry Blossom" and "Darkness At Noon."

"It's almost a let-down to learn that she's not a spectre but a functioning human" - The Guardian
"a wonderfully idiosyncratic album guaranteed to make guests stop and ask you what's playing" - Montreal Gazette
"An engrossing hymn to love's mad carousel"- Clash
"sounds like a long lost lullaby that you heard in a dream or a movie"- Top40-Charts.com
