Newest Rebelmann Single "Indian Land" Expected To Spark Controversy
Chicago (Top40 Charts / REBELMANN) The lyrics weren't written to be controversial. Nor were they meant to be political. But "Indian Land," the newest scheduled release in December by teen rockers REBELMANN® out of Chicago leaves little room for interpretation ~ "It's Indian Land." Clayton Mann , the 14-year-old lead vocalist for the young rock band of brothers, delivers the single in a mature vocal fashion unparalleled for someone his age. His 16-year-old brother, Johnathon Mann , developed the piercing guitar riff that is said to be both bone-chilling and haunting; while his twin, Bryce Mann , also 16, composed a drum beat resounding the march of the Trail of Tears, a herd of bison on the move, or an intense chase for life and freedom on the Great Plains long before Christopher Columbus was awarded a national holiday for discovering a land already inhabited by an indigenous people who simply called themselves human. Timmy Dwayne contributed bass on "Indian Land," as he does on all 10 REBELMANN® originals, 3 of which were prior released this year.

"Indian Land" sings of a way of life for America's first nations - Navajo, Apache, Blackfeet and more -against a struggle of invaders who take their land and suffocate a culture that hails the spirits, man, beast, wind, and sea as one. Where no more is taken than is needed, versus a new society that takes everything, at all costs, in the name of Manifest Destiny. The struggle is not over.

"Indian Land" bucks the norm with a provocative 6.23 minutes of playing time. REBELMANN® also has a planned shortened version for release; the longer version recognizing the Massacre at Wounded Knee not once, but twice. The first massacre in 1890 left as many as 300 men, women, and children of Spotted Elk's band buried in a mass grave on the Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota. The second being the 1973 standoff and uprising, which brought intense media attention to the injustice of the Native American, and tragically left a U.S. Marshall, amongst others, dead.

"Indian Land" is an in-your-face, thought-provoking lyrical prose. REBELMANN's intent is to tell the full story; the truth as it is to this day for America's First Nations, especially those living on the harsh plains simply known as Pine Ridge. The song captures their struggle to survive, and their desire to be recognized and validated on their reservation lands, which have more regulations and red tape than a nuclear power plant. These harsh conditions still result in people freezing to death on the Great Plains. "Indian Land" makes you think and feel something very real. REBELMANN® has delivered.
