New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Sam Smith's 'Money On My Mind' sold 108,000 copies to claim the No.1 spot, making it the fastest-selling debut single by a Critics' Choice winner ever.
"It feels unbelievable, man!"Smith told the Official Charts Company. "It's completely overwhelming and I don't actually know what to do with myself! It feels amazing. When 'La La La' went to Number 1, I wrote quite a lot of that song and it was kind of just as much mine as it was Naughty Boy's, but having my own song at Number 1 is just absolutely incredible!"
Bastille and Arctic Monkeys also got huge boosts on the album chart. While Arctic Monkeys' AM surged nine spots to No 2, Bastille's Bad Blood, which was originally released in March 2013, climbed all the way to No 1. Disclosure, who performed at the Brits with Lorde, zoomed 29 places to No 3, followed by Ellie Goulding, and Bastille's "Basti-mental" collaborators, Rudimental.
