NEW YORK, NY (Miles Ahead Entertainment) - Today's Top Hip-Hop & Rock Artists to Perform Exclusively for 5,000 Local Youth Volunteers
Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC), the national youth volunteerism movement that motivates young people to get involved and help their communities, today announced that recording artists T.I., Panic! At the Disco, Young Jeezy, Taking Back Sunday, Fabolous, Don Omar and others will perform at this year's New York City concert event on September 23 at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. The event will be hosted by Nick Cannon. The concert is in recognition of the 5,000 hard-working local youth who volunteered four hours of community service through BMRC to earn tickets to this ultra-exclusive event.
RockCorps, an organization harnessing the power of music to inspire volunteerism, and Boost Mobile, a wireless telecommunications brand dedicated to boosting the lives of today's youth, have partnered to continue the youth movement for social change. Combining the power of music, community and volunteerism, Boost Mobile RockCorps will offer entrance to this summer's most popular concerts for which the only way in is to earn tickets by contributing four hours of volunteer service.
BMRC volunteers work on a range of service projects in partnership with local non-profit organizations, including school and playground renovations, environmental initiatives, food distribution and more. Leading up to the NYC concert, the BMRC program made stops this summer in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. By the end of the 2006 tour, BMRC volunteers will have contributed approximately 40,000 hours of community service and transformed close to 125 project sites in eight cities across the country.
People interested in participating at any of the upcoming BMRC events are encouraged to log onto www.boostmobilerockcorps.com or call 888-ROCK-889 for more information and to register for membership. Boost Mobile RockCorps members will be notified of opportunities in their area to volunteer and asked to commit four hours to a specific event or ongoing cause.
