The Weeknd Teases New Short Film Called 'Mania'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Weeknd announced Monday that his upcoming LP Starboy will be accompanied by a "visual piece" titled Mania. A day after performing "Starboy" at the 2016 American Music Awards, the Canadian superstar has teased a trippy trailer for a new short film.

Abel reunited with "Starboy" director Grant Singer for the Mania film, which looks to continue from the "Starboy" video, featuring quick shots of the same luxury sports car, black panther, and a club scene.

The Weeknd offered no release date for the "visual piece," but assured that it would be coming soon. With his third album due out this coming Friday, XO fans should expect the film around the same time.

The Weeknd has already rolled out four tracks from the 18-track LP, including "Party Monster," "False Alarm" and a pair of Daft Punk collaborations: "Starboy" and "I Feel It Coming."

Last September, The Weeknd's sophomore set Beauty Behind the Madness (via XO/Republic Records) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
In the meantime, you can check the 18-second clip for the short film Mania below:
