New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Tom Odell releases his brand new single Piano Man today on Columbia Records. Tom's version of the Billy Joel hit was recorded live from Chris Evan's world famous BBC Radio 2 show in October, in front of guests Jeff Goldblum and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Profits from Piano Man will be donated to BBC Children in Need and you can watch the incredible performance direct from BBC Radio 2.

Having supported his hero Billy Joel on tour back in 2013, Tom Odell said, "Piano Man is one of my favourite songs of all time. It inspired me to begin writing my own songs when I was a teenager. I still have to pinch myself that I got the opportunity to play with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden. Whilst my cover of the song will never be as good as the original, I feel pretty chuffed with it, and having finished my touring for the year, am now going to dedicate myself to raising as much money for Children in Need as possible."
Tom Odell released his third top 5 studio album Jubilee Road to critical acclaim in October of this year. Jubilee Road marked a career-defining record for Odell, which saw the multi-talented young artist take full control of his music, not only writing, singing, and vamping up his vibrant piano style on all ten songs, but also self-producing them. You can watch Tom performing single If You Wanna Love Somebody (taken from his new album Jubilee Road) and his cover of True Colours last month on Children in Need Rocks.

Odell's debut album, 2013's million selling, #1 UK debut Long Way Down, featured his breakthrough single Another Love and was equally met with tremendous critical acclaim, earning him the highly prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2014 and the Brits Critics' Choice Award in 2013 at the age of 22. Odell's 2016 second album Wrong Crowd, debuted at #2 on the UK album charts His singles Another Love and Real Love both hit the UK Top 10, with the latter, a cover of a track by The Beatles - used for the UK John Lewis' Christmas TV 2014 ad campaign. Odell has amassed an impressive 1.8 million album sales and 10 million single sales worldwide.

N.B. A minimum of 50p from the download of this single and an approximately equivalent share of streaming income received by Sony Music Entertainment UK Ltd will benefit BBC Children in Need (charity number 802052 in England & Wales and SC039557 in Scotland).
